I bought several of the set and really love them. I use the 5" and the Kiritsuke every chance I get. It feels like they were made for me. I love the thick handle which feels very secure and non slip. I have watched a few videos about the best way to use them and so feel secure sharpening them for each use. Cooking prep that took minutes now take seconds. If they are sharp, there is no need to saw back and forth which saves time, energy and I'm told, a straight slice downward helps preserve the freshness of the fruit or veg that is being cut by not creating little rips in the surface. I recommend these knives for anyone who is proficient in knife skills but does not want to spend too much for a nice knife, or those willing to learn. ... show more

The knives are very sharp, only problem is that the handle doesn't have a good grip to it. The handle also feels to heavy for the knife. Having a thick coat of varnish makes the handle slippery and very unsafe. Would not recommend purchasing. There are many better knives out there. If it doesn't feel right in your hand , DON'T BUY!!! ... show more
