  • Motorized V8 engine kit delivers fun build and realistic moving display for car enthusiasts
The Tuajixz V8 engine building blocks set is a fun and engaging project that will appeal to automotive engineering fans. With 588 pieces, the kit assembles into a realistic engine model complete with moving pistons, a crankshaft, and a rotating fan. The components are of good quality, fitting together cleanly, and the instructions are well paced, making the build approachable for older children as well as adult builders. The battery-operated motor is the highlight of the set, bringing the model to life once assembled. Watching the pistons and fan move adds an interactive element that elevates this from a static display to a dynamic demonstration piece. It is both educational and entertaining, offering insight into engine mechanics while remaining accessible as a hobby build. Overall, this is a satisfying kit that combines quality parts, clear instructions, and a clever motorized feature, making it a standout display piece for car enthusiasts and builders alike. ... show more

  • A fun little gadget to assemble, and a cool working model once it's done.
The media could not be loaded. Purchased this for myself (an adult) because I love assembling little gadgets like these. It was an entertaining 4 hours to get it done, with very minimal frustration. The most fiddly part of assembly was putting together the two cam chains, which each have to be assembled link by link. They were also pretty difficult to get on the cam gears without them breaking apart. The engine came packaged well, with three separate bags marked 1 thru 3 corresponding to sections of the assembly guide. However, there was a bag marked "replacement parts" in bag 2 that had parts in it needed for section 1. Also, there are smaller bags in each of the larger bags that you might assume correspond to specific steps, but no, you'll need parts from all of the smaller bags in a section bag pretty much from the start. There was a supplemental instruction sheet included that stated to use parts from the replacement bag instead of the parts included in the larger section bags, but I only found this necessary when assembling the exhaust pipes. But it was necessary for that step. The original parts would not mate correctly, but the almost identical replacement parts had more clearance and assembled smoothly. The guide can be a bit unclear on which parts it is referring to sometimes, especially in regards to color. Refer to my photos for more info. Black parts are shown with a white outline in the assembly guide, while dark gray parts look almost identical, but they are outlined in black. If you're buying this for a child, keep in mind the following: 1) Many of the parts are very small and easily lost. 2) Some of the assembly steps take quite a bit of force, especially threading the plastic rods through multiple other parts. 3) Many step require a significant amount of hand dexterity. Combined with the smallness of the parts and the force needed to put some of them together, this can be quite hard on the hands. 4) The instructions are clear and complete, but several steps are complex enough that they might be done wrong. I had to go back and redo two things that I assembled incorrectly. Long story short, I'd say a technically inclined teen could handle this on their own, but I'm not sure I'd say it's appropriate for a 12 year old like the box says. All in all, I'm happy with the process and the end result. Definitely worth the price. The instructions are very good compared to some other similar gadgets I've played with, but still have a little room for improvement. And as you can see from the included video, it does run! ... show more

  • Working V8 engine model building set with almost 600 pieces.
This is a great educational working model set of a V8 engine. Like all types of building kits, instructions are a little difficult, but manageable. There are almost 600 pieces that can get damaged if care is not taken, but once the model is complete, it runs and works great. Engines are a mystery to most people and this model helps make an engine's inner workings more clear. This would make a great project for an adult overseeing a junior high or high school age student. It also makes a great gift for an adult. Building something by hand takes learning to a whole new level and this model does not disappoint. It is also a good value for the kit, especially since it makes a running model engine when completed. I have added a coffee mug to the pictures for size reference. ... show more

  • Broke pieces (my fault), but also not my fault
This is such a cool toy. Now, if you can manage to finish it, great, but... we can't. It's also 100 percent going to need an adult companion for the build. First, read the sheet in the package in the instructions that says the regular instructions are wrong. Second, the videos linked for examples don't work. So, in my pictures, I tried as best as I could to take photos of the pistons in a position that I think is correct. Third, there are several steps that require tremendous force to overcome the friction of putting axles through seven or eight pieces. This is the reason we didn't finish. We broke too many pieces, even trying to replace them with our own, to finish the kit. The pressure to overcome friction bends, breaks, or just destroya pieces at certain steps (IIRC 42/43 was the finality of our project). I can't finish the project, but maybe you can. I've included a photo of the method I used to overcome friction on step (42/43). I tried adding oil, soap, lube (hah, yes, water based), and none of those worked. I needed to use a lube that was easily washable and safe, but even with those, I still couldn't slide those 4 pieces onto that little pole. The only thing that worked was using my pliers to push down. If you squeeze and push you are just increasing your friction problem, so that was the only thing that worked. Anyway, I think from looking in the instructions the build is achievable. And it's a super cool project, I'm just obviously not aged 12 yet, so I couldn't finish. Good luck folks. ... show more
