We've always had hard tri-fold tonneau covers but didn't want to pay so much for this one. This cover was super easy to install (no tools needed) and is nice and tight. There's latches inside so when the tailgate is closed and locked, you cannot lift the tonneau cover. The latches will tuck into a channel when you fold the cover back, but as I usually just have it folded back for just a moment, I have to take care not to puncture the top with the latches - not a major problem. The cover fits the bed very well, and has two pieces of heavy rubber at the back to keep *most* water out of the bed. I'm not sure any cover is fully waterproof, but this makes a good effort at it. The cover was easy to install, but the instructions could be better. Place the cover at the front of the bed after putting down the weatherstripping, install the 4 - T-bars and clamps on the cover (2 on each side) and just leave them unsecured. Then fully open the cover and adjust where it is sitting BEFORE you screw the clamps down. You'll want the rear weatherstripping to end up sitting in the right place on the corners. Then carefully fold it back up so you can tighten the 4 front clamps in place. This will save you from having to adjust the placement later if you position it properly the first time, before tightening the front clamps. I didn't, and it was hard to move and adjust the position without fully taking off the 4 assemblies. Between the weight of the cover and the weatherstripping, little 1/4" adjustments were hard. The rear latch assembly is a little sticky, and you must be sure to re-place them in the channel so they don't impede folding up the cover. There are clips on both sides to lock the cover in place when folded forward, and the front 1/3rd is always locked down on the bed (doesn't fold up like some). I think this is much safer than those that fold up against the rear window. I replaced a soft roll-up cover with this, so I no longer have to pull on the sides to connect to any velcro. I like this style better, and it looks cleaner. Speaking of cleaner, I do appreciate that there is no logo on the cover to advertize the brand name.. ... show more

This was a purchase to keep my truck bed items dry. This is not a waterproof tri-fold cover but it does repel water and help to keep water off the items in the truck bed. I chose this over a roll-up version for the ability to cover in thirds. This design is not a safety hazard like the other tri-folds that lean against the rear window. This one lays flat. Installing the cover took about 10 minutes but the instructions could have been much clearer. I chose to not use the weather stripping in case I needed to work on the truck bed for other additions. I docked a star because the length of the topper could be just a couple inches longer to allow for better coverage. I would also prefer if the latch was more towards the back than the front. The vinyl material feels slightly cheap and not too durable. When driving at high speeds at approx. 70 MPH, this does not have a whistling noise, does not flap, and has no drag. A small light was included which is a thoughtful addition to be able to see the items in the bed. Overall, I would say the price is reasonable and the truck topper is decent if you are wanting some protection for your items on a budget. ... show more

I have a 2024 4WD EcoBoost on order, but the dealership told me early on, that they don’t have a date of when it will be delivered. They gave me an estimate of 6 months. That gives me an opportunity to scout out some useful mods for the truck. This tonneau bed cover seemed like an outstanding deal, compared to other tonneau covers that are much more. I know that you often get what you pay for, but I felt that it was worth it to try this budget tonneau cover out to see if it performs as it should. My expectations are lowered, as I know a cover costing many multiples of this one likely has better materials, engineering and tolerances. Still, if it conceals and secures the bed contents, doesn’t leak (much) and works more or less as a normal tonneau cover, I won’t complain, but instead will be thrilled at my good fortune. Since I can’t assemble and install this until the truck arrives, I can only say that the quality from opening the box and examining the parts, seems good. My review will be updated once the truck arrives and this is installed. Then I will learn more about fit and finish, if water gets into the bed and where, how it handles at speed, how heat/cold affect it, how it works overall and if I would recommend it to others. I am really happy that I found this super-affordable tonneau cover by WHALEMOTOR for Ford Maverick! Comes with a one year warranty. Nice! I finally received the delivery of my Maverick and installed this cover immediately. The installation is relatively easy. The majority of work is to mount the front panel with the 4 T-clamp down and with the flipper clamp at the last piece. There are rubber seal tapes around the edge to seal for water and it indeed keeps most of the water out with minimum leakage into the trunk. This is my second cover for my ford Maverick and I like this one a bit more than my first one because of the set up. The install is a little more than the first one I was using but this one fits a bit more secure on the back of the truck. The price is good for it being a fold up cover and it’s nice to be able to keep the back sealed from the weather and prying eyes.
