I understand the use of plastic to save weight, but not in this case. The TRQ part really weighs no more than the plastic Mopar part. Also had replaced the oil filter/cooler from another vendor. Same thing the metal part weighted no more than the factory plastic. This was a direct fit, with no hassle to install it on our Grand Caravan. TRQ’s video is very helpful, as their other videos. Does not Fit a 2018 f-150, there is a bolt on the housing that hits the engine block and does not allow it to seat in place. The plastic one does not have that bolt there. my issue is the same as other reviews. Save yourself the trouble if you have a 2018 F-150 3.5 eco-boost, don't buy it if you need it right away, or buy this to see if it fits and buy a different one that's plastic just in case the metal one does not work for you and return the one you do not use. You will be happy you did this step if you don't believe me and buy the metal one. I only tried it on a 2018 F-150 3.5L eco boost .
