Although great for trout, these are great for fly fishing of a spinning rod to give you that little extra distant without all the jazz of a fly rod. I also use these for kids. It has many benefits over the plastic ones. Ex. offer less resistance, so the fish bites longer, easily adjustable, perfect size, cheap. They don't last forever though. Eventually the foam will become worn out and will need to be tossed out as it won't hold in place anymore. ... show more

I'm not sure I like these. They are small and hard to see. Even a little weight on the line so you can cast will pull them under. They are easy to adjust, but i don't think I will use them much.
