I have a 12 pound cat. He has a scratchy curl pad in every room. I always prior to this bought the Petlinks Dream curls for him. This product is not as sturdy but does have more sisal on it. Petlinks got chintzy with the sisal and more expensive. This one had a good price point and more sisal. I do recommend putting it on carpeting as otherwise will slide around or flatten out as some reviewers mentioned. Putting it on rug helps prevent that. Not a bad product though. My cat is also not a fan of the rug they use and while he will lay in the others will not lay in this one. He just uses it for scratching purposes only. Stands on it and scratches just fine. Holds up well for that. My cat has a scratch pad in every room. This one was good for one room but not the others as have tile or wood flooring in the other rooms. Update: Bought a second one and my cat just loves this one. Except that he does not lay in it but it is his preferred one in the house and I have many different kinds for him throughout the house. And basically, it is HIS vote that counts not mine. It is sturdy enough for him and he is a 12 pound cat and have attached pictures of him sitting on it no problem. Also pictures of his old one that I purchased a year and a half ago or thereabouts. And he loved it used it still in decent condition actually and not throwing away the old one just moving it to another location. He was THRILLED when he saw the new one. So giving it five stars now as my cat voted and he loves it. ... show more

    • Pleasantly Surprised By Quality Scratching Wave
This kitty scratching wave/post is made well and our cat loved it at first sight. Her previous wave was demolished and leaving wads of material all around it. This one comes in a pretty tan color which blends in great. I had the impression that this new product would be cheaply-made due to its very LOW price, but it's just fine! They fight over who gets to lay on it. When using it to scratch it was perfect for a few weeks but due to multiple cats and the durability of the scratching material coming off I had to toss it. If the material was thicker and had a better adhesive the design is a hit with my cats

I'm very upset that the website did NOT tell you about the warning for formaldhyde exposer. By the time I saw the label I had already cut the box up so can't be returned. I ended up throwing it away BUT I want othes to beaware. Also NOT made well. The material is wrinkled and not attached well. My old one had eatra tough material sowed to all edges. This one odes not, so not very sturdy. I would have loved to return but will end up throwing out as it is garbage!!! ... show more

For the price of $20, its acceptable and i was happy to see, this maker of cat stuff was not clueless like the maker of the other scratching wave i also bought at same time that contain many staples!! Reason for 3 stars is because the back of wave is actually higher up than in pic and curved inwards, making it awkward for the cats to sit forward facing sasil area, plus the front of wave is not as high up/curved as in pic and therefore under cubby area of wave is barely high enough for a small kitten. What it really looks like to me is someone did not pay attention and put satchel side on the wrong side of wave because if i flip wave upside down, the shape of wave looks exactly like pic with plenty of room for a regular size cat to fit under cubby area.. For $20, it isn't worth getting cat hair off and packaging this up to return it , especially when its still useable and a decent cat scratcher but, had i paid more, i would be disapointed at no one noticing it was not built properly, and i actually would also not be happy with the flimsy feel of the board, the back feels like it will literally crack/break across in near future (for $20 and under, this does not bother me, low quality toys are kinda expected at those prices).. ... show more

We had this product before with some of our previous cats. We love this product. We tried others, like the card board kind. They were a mess and our cat too easily destroyed them. This one he scratches all the time and it shows no wear and tear

The color is lighter than advertised, which I preferred. It’s bigger than my old one which was about $10 more. As you can see, it’s Calico approved. This thing is sturdy and comes assembled so you just take it out of the bag and it’s ready to go.
