First off, I'd like to say how nice this looks. It looks like it's the right size for my needs. But, it would have been easier to assemble had the long bolts not been only a thread or 2 long enough to stick thru to put the nut on. Then, the roof...oh, the roof. That was mighty fun to assemble. You have to align the back piece on the inside and then try to locate where the hinge screws are suppose to go. There is no pre-drilled holes so it's a sit it on, make a pencil mark, flip it over, find the spot, try to start the screws, get it together only to find out that you'd got it too far to one side and too far back so it doesn't close right. Then, remove the screws and start more holes to try and make it work right this time. Sure would have been nice to have a template, or at least they had pre-drilled those holes in the right spot. All this time you're flipping it over the shingle material is coming off like sand. I just barely got it aligned right and put on. Just hope the wood doesn't expand and contract too much and totally throw it off and it not close correctly. Then, we come to the flooring. Nice that you can slip them in but...95 pound rated? Without a cross brace for the middle of the drop ins to sit on? Gotta buy some wood and reinforce it because there is no way it'll hold up a dog that large without any cross bracing for the middles of those pieces to sit on top of. Oh, they have their own little pieces front to back but it needs left to right, side to side for that to sit on to adequately hold a dog more than 40 pounds. BUT, I guess for the price you can't expect perfection. I'll just have to add my own bracing when I put in some sort of insulating material for winter since that slat bottom is open and cold air can just come right up thru it. Would I buy it again with what I know? Probably look for another type so, no. Will it work for my needs? Once I finish all the modifications to make it actually hold up my dog, yes. But, that's going to cost me another $50 to reinforce it to it actually does hold my dog up to 95 pounds. ... show more

I had a feral cat that loved to stay in this when it was really cold. Easy to have electric pads in it. Stay dry. I purchased two of these for feral outside cats. They help control insects as well.

Amazon claim of ‘Customer Obsession’ not holding true. This customer having to do the leg work and spend on shipping to make right. Single Mom budget, not possible. Stuck with damaged product. Have given them to much business to be treated this way. Disappointed.

I got this for several cats who have taken up residence in the back of my house to live in during the winter. So far it does the trick, if they can just learn to share that is. Good size for a large dog too, I got the XL. The assembly was pretty easy and it looks like it will last for a while. The only reason I gave it 4 stars, instead of 5, was because several boards were broken or cracked when it arrived, so I had to glue them. It seems fine now, but generally I like my stuff to arrive undamaged. ... show more

    • Outdoor litter box enclosure

It's not bad, nicely designed, easy to put together, comes with all the hardware you need, and has pre-drilled holes to make it simple. The materials seem decent, bolts, screws, hinges. The top is covered in some sort of gravel where some small bits may shake loose initially. The wood itself leaves a lot to be desired as it's quite thin and brittle. One of the side edges has slight damage from where the lid scraped against it. The sides need to be squared up a bit so the lid sits properly once closed. One of the plastic feet broke off when wood splintered apart where it was screwed in because I dragged it rather than picking it up. It easily screwed back in a different position where the wood wasn't split. It gets a star knocked off for the material, but honestly, I'm not sure I could do better for cheaper. While it's supposed to be weatherproof out of the box, I added another coat of Rust-Oleum 207008 Marine Spar Varnish 1-Quart to every piece before I put it together since it will be exposed to rain. If you decide to do this, make sure you do it in a well ventilated area and give yourself extra time for it to dry and air out before letting your pets use it. I didn't get the TRIXIE Pet Products Plastic Door for Flat Roof Dog House, Large either but we'll see after the rainy season starts. As a dog house, I'd be a little skeptical about using this for a 50lb+ dog. I think it best to heed the other reviews if you have a bigger dog or one that likes to destroy things. As a litter box enclosure, it works great for this. It can fit a Nature's Miracle High Sided Litter Box and Litter Genie Plus Cat Litter Disposal System with Odor Free Pail System, Silver with room to spare. The hinges seem to be okay with frequent lifting, locks in place with a soft click (both hinges lock), and unlocks easily with a gentle tug. For those of you with big (or lots) of cats, the plastic mortar tub from Home Depot (similar to Maccourt At2606 26"x20"x6" Plastic Utility Tub ) will fit inside but there wouldn't be room for much else. ... show more
