I bought this primarily for the hammock but after a couple weeks my cat has fallen in love with the whole thing. He's a medium to large size cat (a maine coon mix) and it fits him just fine. It's a great mini cat-tree for small apartments (I got the "grande" size). The little hideaway part is a good size for him and the hammock supports his frame and weight well. This is also the first time he's ever actively used rope scratchers! It seems like a solidly built item and it looks nice. The fabric is soft and my cat seems to really like it. It was also very easy to put together - took about 5 minutes. Some minor drawbacks: The little toy attached to the hammock comes off really easily and once unattached, it falls apart. I tried reattaching it and it lasted about one more day. It smells a little right out of the box - kind of chemical-y (maybe it's the glue used to secure the fabric?). But after about a month the smell has faded significantly. Overall I'm super pleased. It was a great value and my cat uses it daily. It is his favorite bed/toy/hiding place. ... show more

2/28 update: This seller is TERRIFIC as customer service goes. I had a small issue and reached out to TRIXIE Pets and they addressed it ASAP. I haven't see that kind of service in a long time. The Cat tree is great for my 3 legged kitty. He is a bigger cat and he fits fine in the hammock and the steps help him get to the hammock and down. If you have a senior Cat or a physically challenged kitty this is well worth the money and very well made. I just purchased this for my senior 3 legged kitty. Delivery was fast and product is nice and tower seems sturdy however the hammock frame inside the hammock is broken. I have reached out to Trixie in hopes they will send a replacement part for free as this is a new purchase. I will update this review once its resolved. ... show more

I bought a cat tree for my cats not considering that my older cat (16) might have issues climbing it. He liked when I put him up there but was too scared to get down himself. So, enter this senior cat tree! I was able to place it right next to the other tree and it's perfect for him. He's also a big cat (18 lbs) and the hammock is the perfect size. I have a senior cat that I wanted a new cat tree to utilize. I have a couple taller ones that she isn't able to jump onto or climb anymore due to her age, so I sought out a smaller one that allowed for easy climbing, but also had an area she would find comfortable to lay in. This cat tree is a perfect fit, as I found she does not need to attempt to jump onto the stepping planks and she finds it easy to get down when she wants to. It features a couple scratching posts, which she loves, along with a comfortable hammock on top that is sturdy. My only reservation with this cat tree is that it took longer than I expected to assemble because of the lack of building instructions. I found myself having to unscrew some of the posts a few times because they are not labeled well and tend to look the same. I read through all of the reviews concerning the Trixie products and decided on the medium Baza because my kitten loves getting into bags, holes, essentially everything, so knew she would enjoy addition of the condo on the bottom. It arrived on time, but box was horribly beat up and the tape had come off to point that the box was torn and almost completely open. First strike! I was also surprised that it shipped from Sam’s warehouse- just had who I suppose was the “seller”’s billing address for shipping. I do NOT like Sam’s and never would have ordered if I had known it was coming from there! Anyway, I opened box and noticed several problems immediately. There was an empty, crumpled baggie that I could tell was supposed to contain screws and wrench. All of the parts were crammed in box to be able to fit, so hammock and the two sisal posts were bent. Putting it together should have only taken a few minutes, but took me an extremely frustrating and pissed off hour + because of the condition of products and the screws that I found loose in bottom of box were stripped!!!!!! The hammock and posts were bent, as I mentioned, so everything wouldn’t line up properly and the new screws that I had to buy couldn’t be tightened enough because of alignment, so the posts were wobbly and hammock not secure. The quality absolutely SUCKS too!!!!! The hammock is so flimsy and cheap. The “fur” was already shedding when I was putting it together. Material so thin I felt like it was going to rip. The condo is just cardboard with an extremely thin layer of the cheap fur, so it’s very hard/ uncomfortable and definitely wouldn’t be durable. The top is hard as a rock too. My kitten plays with EVERYTHING and she did get in condo and try to scratch posts and immediately just looked at me like “what is this crap”! I wouldn’t have been comfortable letting her get on hammock or even be around it anyway because hammock would break, whole thing would probably topple over and the “fur” smells like it’s made of toxic material! This is WORST purchase I’ve made and I’m extremely dissatisfied and downright annoyed as crap that I received a used, cheap piece of garbage!!!! Complete waste of money!! I strenuously recommend that you avoid this product!!!! On final note, seller won’t respond to my request for a refund!!! ... show more

I had a smaller version of this by the same brand that was my cat's favorite window side bed space. After several long years of wear and tear, I decided to upgrade her to this one. She is 11 years old and loves having steps to help her get up to it. I only wish I had gotten it sooner.
