  • The Perfect Remake

I absolutely adore this game. The way they translated the original game's graphics into 3D is just wonderful.

  • A Masterful Remake of a Classic RPG
Platform: PlayStation 4
As a longtime fan of RPGs, I was beyond excited to dive into Trials of Mana on my PlayStation 4. And let me tell you, this game did not disappoint. First off, the graphics and music of Trials of Mana are stunning. The game's vibrant, colorful world is a joy to explore, and the character designs and animations are top-notch. The soundtrack is equally impressive, with catchy tunes that perfectly capture the game's adventurous spirit. But what really makes Trials of Mana stand out is its gameplay. The game offers a unique and highly customizable class system, allowing you to mix and match different abilities and playstyles to create your ideal party of adventurers. The combat is fast-paced and satisfying, with a wide variety of enemies and bosses to face off against. And of course, the story of Trials of Mana is engaging and well-written. The game follows a group of heroes as they attempt to prevent an evil sorceress from obtaining the power of the Mana Tree. Along the way, you'll encounter a colorful cast of characters, each with their own unique motivations and backstories. But what really impressed me about Trials of Mana was the attention to detail in the game's remake. The developers clearly put a lot of love and care into updating the game's mechanics and visuals, while still staying true to the original source material. As someone who played the original game on the Super Nintendo, I was delighted to see how faithfully the remake captured the essence of the original while still offering new and improved gameplay features. In conclusion, Trials of Mana is an absolute must-play for RPG fans. Its vibrant world, engaging story, and satisfying gameplay make it one of the best RPGs available on the PlayStation 4. Whether you're a fan of the original game or new to the series, you won't be disappointed with Trials of Mana. So grab your sword and get ready to embark on an unforgettable adventure! ... show more

  • Trials of Mana Remake, PS4
Platform: PlayStation 4
Trials of Mana Remake, PS4 A +100 hour RPG game in the same vein as Dragon Quest XI. The Completionist may have a hard time getting 100% Complete as the Angela Instinct Orb level will need to be played on Hard, which is one of the most difficult bosses to beat, perhaps even harder than the Dark Rabbite in Dragonsmaw. (I spent 175 hours before finally putting the game down.) Once the Dark Rabbite is beaten it is best to rope to the entrance, turn around and exit, as he will randomly spawn, which will make for very long fights, using up your supplies, and zero gain as you will have already gotten the reward that reduces the cost of all special abilities to zero - which is something you definitely want. Whenever Angela is in the party she will have to do the Instinct Orb level. Controls tend to be somewhat delayed, as when pressing many buttons in quick succession in the heat of a battle. After finishing the game the first time, save the game and when it kicks you out to the Load Menu, start from the file it saved. It will open the second phase of the game, the Witch Anise story line. After the second phase is beaten the Load Menu will now have a "Game+" option. Keep all your collected items as it will make the game easier and shorter. Even though some weapons cannot be assigned due to the party members not being in the right class, some weapons can be bought right before entering a final boss fight. 10 memory slots, so use to your advantage. You'll want to save twice before engaging a boss fight because it may auto-save afterwards. While cookies are listed as being rare, use EXP and LUCRE every chance you get, and use the buff (luck, strength, etc.) cookies before entering boss fights, they can even be staggered one after the other - load up the supplies wheel, pause, eat a cookie, pause, eat a different cookie. Some Treasure Chests give Cookies, so even if you've maxed everything out it pays to open all the chests since cookies cannot be bought from vendors. To get the most out of the game a different protagonist (the person shown in the towns) will need to be selected. Doing so will allow one to experience the Crystal Desert/Dragonsmaw, Jungle Visions/Mirage Palace, or Night Cavern/Dark Castle levels; each of which is unique and worth playing. One could select a male or female protagonist for each pass through, for example, but never the same protagonist, the main player; for example Duran for the first pass, Kyle for the second pass, and Hawkeye for the third pass; or Angela, Reisz or Charlotte for the three different passes, respectively. Each will have a different arch enemy: Dark Lich, Archdemon or Mondoragon. I found Angela's "Eeek" tiresome (as a protagonist), whereas I never got tired of hearing Hawkye say, "I don't think so!" Kyle and Hawkeye are good as brawlers and Charlotte's nunchucks are good at destroying Shields. Charlotte is excellent for platforming as she floats over to platforms to get to Treasire Chests, as in Fiery Gorge, Frostbite Fields and Celestial Peak. I found that I had to once reset Hawkeye's class, at the Sanctuary, as the class I had chosen was useless in boss battles. Resetting classes at the Sanctuary does not remove any points, they can immediately be re-assigned after a reset. The major bosses, Dark Lich, Archdemon or Mondoragon, are not affected my magic, so projectile weapons, like pumpkins and axes, should be used. Use darts for the flying hornets and any flying enemies, especially in the shifting sands Desert region. Can assign duties to heal, support, defend or go all out and attack. Some 2D sections, some 2D platforming. Some puzzles will need pencil and paper. It would be best to map out the solutions as there's a good chances that one will be traversing the same level more than once. ... show more

  • Cute, fun,and enjoyable.
Platform: PlayStation 4
You can play with either the boy characters or the girl characters or mix and match to your delight! Great for replayability. I'm not a great gamer, but was able to play without any problems. Definitely recommendable!

  • Great game
Platform: PlayStation 4
Super cute artwork, nice storylines, 6 characters to play as. There are 3 storylines you can follow, one that goes along with 2 each of the characters. I believe the overall storyline is the same with the main enemies changing depending on your main charater. Partys have 3 members, basic storyline is decided on your main character. You can choose the 2nd storyline charather if you'd like dialogue that'll improve your experience or you can pick any other charather if you'd prefer their classes. You'll be doing 3 playthroughs if you want everything, you don't need to do 6. Charather levels have a optional carry over so you can have a easier time with enimies or if you'd rather have same level charathers. You can also evolve your classes, with each class having 2 options that spilt into 2 options. I believe theres 3 or 4 class levels ... show more
