🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Traxxas Xmaxx RC Car receives high praise from most reviewers for its size, durability, and speed. The RC car seems to be popular due to its fun factor and apparently makes users feel like kids again. However, some customers indicated it may require additional upgrades and accessories for optimal performance which aren't included in the original purchase.

Pros

  • 🚗 Super fun to use, provides hours of entertainment
  • 🏁 Speedy, impressive performance levels
  • 🔩 Sturdy and durable design, resistant to most impacts
  • 💪 Strong handling, even suitable for RC beginners

Cons

  • 💰 High price point and additional costs for upgrades and accessories
  • 🔧 Some customers reported issues with the drivetrain and pinion gear
  • ⬆️ May require significant upgrades before it's ready for an intense bashing
  • 🔋 Some customers recommended using aftermarket batteries instead of those provided

Should I Buy It?

If you are a RC enthusiast or simply look for an entertaining and exciting leisure activity, and do not mind spending some extra money on the initially high cost and potential upgrades, the Traxxas Xmaxx is a great choice for you. The overall positive reviews and enjoyment derived from the product seem to outweigh the cons, making it a worthwhile investment for many customers.

  • Awesome truck!
This thing is awesome and if you’re buying one without ever seeing one in person (as I did) its even bigger than you’d expect. The box it came in was huge and I figured like most things you buy today, the box would be mostly packing material but when I opened the lid, the mighty X-maxx barely fit in the box! I’ve only had it a few days but its very sturdy and fast and it seems extremely durable but don’t get the idea that it’s indestructible because all RCs will break with the right impact. On that note replacement parts seem to be fairly inexpensive, so you can keep a few spares on hand. My only gripe is for a thousand dollars I think its kind of ridiculous that the ‘’Traxxas link’’ module is an extra 35 bucks and the roof skid plate is also an additional 10 bucks. I understand these parts being optional on traxxas’ less expensive models but its almost offensive that they’re not included at this price point. But thats genuinely the only thing negative I have to say at this point. Overall its a super fun ENORMOUS truck. Makes me feel like a little kid again! ... show more

  • Great to bash/ race or anything you want to do!
Needed imitiate upgrades 1. Suspension a-arms recommend rpm reinforced poly( i went with nice looking blue aluminum ones and no problems so far with them bending) 2. Upgraded heavy duty servo w metal gears 3. Heavier weight shock oil/ coil overs (went with 80wt oil) 4. Body roof protection by traxxas ( new bodies are quiet pricey) 5. Belted 8s rated non ballooning tires… besides those 5 things great fun truck but be ready for about another 300-400 in upgrades before its crash n bash ready for hours of endless fun and is truely worth it, without those upgrades it is a bit lack luster out of the box a few good jumps servo and a arms will give out and you wont be able to have the truck drive straight with the nearly 30lb trucks forces landing on the default servo as it will quickly die and begin to complain about it and for shocks out of the box it seems their just upsized 4x4 stampede shocks super light rebound and stiffness will bottom out on absolutely everything but otherwise great truck great fun for many hours to come once upgrades are completed ... show more

  • Great truck with good handling, had lots of fun !
The media could not be loaded. I’m fairly new to the rc game and I feel like a pro driving this , the truck had very good handling and it pretty fast .

  • Huge, tough, and fast. You’ll want some upgrades though
My first RC car in over 20 years. I like the size, durability, and power of the XMAXX. I haven’t abused it much yet, but I’m confident it can handle what I throw at it without breaking. I would skip the genuine traxxas charger and batteries, you can use aftermarket 4S batteries and connector adapters. The stock steering servo is garbage. You will want to install the traxxas hi torque metal gear servo upgrade. $100 extra. The bearings on the axle carriers are under size for the power the 8S XMAXX makes. RPM makes an upgrade kit (front and rear) I recommend. $40 extra. I’d also recommend the roof skid plate accessory and install that before you roll it over on pavement the first time. Extra bodies aren’t cheap. It’s pretty easy to disassemble and maintain the XMAXX which can’t be said about the E-Revo. ... show more
