I have owned a half dozen gas and electric rc boats, including a Traxxas nitro vee and a proboat blackjack 24. This Traxxas disruptor is LIGHTYEARS advanced over my other boats. It runs incredibly fast and stable. The automatic flipping works flawlessly, and the electronics amazingly stay cool.

Fast fun boat. Down side and reason for the 2 stars.. Traxxas limits you to what batteries you can use with their “ID connector” it’s great if you don’t know anything about batteries as it has an integrated balancer. Personally I did not feel like cutting the wires from the ESC to convert it to something else to open the range of what batteries you can buy and use that are compatible with a different connection. (XT60, Ec5) You will have to buy the Traxxas charger! adapters to don’t seem to read it on other chargers. Traxxas batteries have a low dump rate “25C” on a 4s battery seems pretty low. Inlet holes are on the bottom of the boat seemed to have a hard time picking up water and sending it through to cool the motor and ESC. My experience the boat threw no water out of the outlets which would lead to overheating. (Yes I made sure the lines were clear blew air through them to insure it was coming through and not clogged). I don’t have the time to tinker anymore therefore I did not want to drill out the hull and make the inlets bigger and/or fabricate my own cooling system. ... show more
