    • 19 inch spinner is right at the limit for Icelandair carry-on

I bought this to take as carry-on for Icelandair, which has one of the most strict restrictions of any airline. According to their website (as of 2023), the maximum dimensions for a carry-on are 21.6x15.7x7.8 inches (55x40x20 cm) with a 22 lbs (10 kg) weight limit. Travelpro lists this at 21.75x15.75x7.75 inches including the wheels and handle. That fraction of an inch difference for height and width doesn't make a difference in Icelandair's sizer when the carry-on isn't packed fully or expanded. However, since this is a soft-sided luggage, when it's packed, even if not overstuffed, the front face will bulge a little a may put the depth over the size limit. We had two extremely unfriendly Icelandair gate agents at Sea-Tac scrutinize this carry-on, saying that it had to checked. Once we took out a couple of items, it met the limit when pushed against the sizer wall. After they gave us the tag that said the carry-on was accepted, we just put everything back in. Of course, there was plenty of space in the overhead bins, so I'm not sure whey Icelandair insists on such a strict size limit. On the return flight from Keflavik, none of the gate agents gave the carry-on a second look. The main reason for docking a star from this is that it's poorly balanced. It has a tendency to fall over, even when the weight inside is distributed toward the bottom and the back. It's just a flaw in the dimensions of suitcase.     • Light, Compact, but Holds a Lot
I needed a new carry-on suitcase. I am on the petite side, so wanted something compact and lightweight I could lift into the overhead bin. This suitcase is both, plus with a little judicious packing, it can hold enough to get me through a week or more. It meets pretty much all airlines' carry-on standards. The wheels move smoothly, making it easy to wheel down a narrow airplane aisle.     • Almost Perfect except for a Sticky Zipper

I take forever deciding on purchases and this was no exception. I comb through tons of Amazon reviews and then bring up assorted reviews through internet searches. I get overwhelmed and have to take breaks to clear my head. So when I finally decided on this one it was a huge relief. I loved its appearance pulling it out of its box. It’s light enough for a disabled person to lift. The wheels are fantastic. They are so smooth and the bag moves with a push of a finger. I liked how the compartments were divided and the zippered top. The problem came when I packed it full and then had trouble with the zipper rounding the top corner. Yes, the bag was full, but the other side didn’t have the same problem. I had no choice but to take the bag with me, and I hoped this was a one time event. I chose this because I dislike checking a bag if I can get everything in a carryon. So I was carrying it through the security checkpoint and was shocked to see two bins down the exact purple bag! What are the odds, I wondered. I thought this would be a fairly rare suitcase. Boy was I wrong! If I hadn’t gone the extra mile and placed bright yellow luggage tags on my purple bag I could have had a luggage mixup on my maiden voyage! I thoroughly enjoyed how easy this was to navigate through the airport and up to the Airbnb I was staying at. But both times I unpacked and repacked had the same problem with the zipper at the same corner. I ended up returning it. I didn’t feel good about a problem zipper from the start.     • Took to Japan…Fabulous!
I have roller board Travel Pros (3 of them), and LOVE them, BUT, advice given online if traveling to Japan was to get a Spinner (4 wheeled) suitcase. It’s crowded and some places are tight on space. So I broke down & bought 2 of these, one for my husband. SO glad we got these. VERY lightweight and maneuverable. It is a bit tricky get them over the ridges in Japanese stations, but we learned to pick them up a bit to get over the speed bumps. Also, they looked so much smaller than my other bags, but really, they are only short by about an inch due to the wheels taking up that extra inch. So size is fine. I did really miss having the back outside pocket, but loved the lighter weight. Had no trouble putting into overheads myself. Great value; I recommend. ... show more

    • Smooth wheels and great balance

I purchased this before our 2-week trip to Alaska because my old carry-on was getting pretty warn. I wanted a bag that was durable, yet lightweight. This isn't quite as light as my old one, but close enough. It's well made with handles in the right place and the wheels work in any direction even when fully loaded, unlike hubby's Swiss Gear one which doesn't like to travel sideways for some reason. It handled well even when I slipped my backpack on it. I was saddened when we got home to see that the bag took a lot of abuse during this trip because it came home pretty scuffed up. The fragile things survived, thank goodness! We never checked it except for the train so it had to be their handling that wrecked it. But our large checked bag ended up with a broken wheel from the airlines, so overly rough handling is a thing. Not sure how to get a bag light enough to be able to pack for over a week and still meet the weight limits while still being able to survive the destructive handling. Well worth the money, though I wanted purple. But it wasn't available, so went for gray so the bag wouldn't be quite so same-same. If we can't fix the wheel on our checked bag, I'll probably buy the checked version of this bag. ... show more

My husband and I wanted to travel with a carry on and our one allotted personal item. This suitcase was lightweight and was compliant with the overhead storage regulations. The outside fabric is durable. I wish there was a separate divider in the center but I made do.
