My wife and I bought this luggage to take on our honey moon to Bora Bora. We wanted nice but disposable luggage with the expectation that the trip to the south pacific would beat it up. Well, it made it there, and back through international flights, island hopper planes held together with duct tape, and even thrown off the boat to the dock and drug through the sand and back. Then I started traveling for work, I ran over the big suit case in my work truck (forgot to put it in the back before backing up), toted it from motel to motel along the Oregon coast. It has made several trips to the midwest and back moving the family, and trips in between. Each bag has seen not less than 100 flights, 100 road trips, and 3 kids through it's life. The small carry on finally bit the dust on a trip to Dallas last year where a not so bright valet tried to load it by the extension handle and it finally broke off after thousands of extensions and retractions. The large bag, that got run over, just made another trip to Denver, the wheel wobbles a little but its still trucking. They are showing their 8 years of age, but still making it strong. It is worth noting that at the SAME time I purchased a name brand "S******TE" for my wife that has traveled much less and is in worse shape and we are down to only one of them VS all but the small of these. I'm writing this review as I am just preparing to order my second set of Travel Select. My only complaint is that it does not have the swivel wheels that make navigating the que lines at airports a bit easier. But for the cost and the amount of trips I'm all for it. Think about it this way.... I spent less than half on this luggage and it lasted as long and longer than something I spent twice as much on. IT HOLDS MY CLOTHES, I don't need some fancy name on the thing to sit under the plane or the back of my truck, to watch it get thrown on the tarmac or fall out of a boat. ... show more

Good value for all the pieces, but the not as sturdy as the ones replaced, which were purchased from Ross. Too bad the color only on the front of each piece.

I purchased these based on reviews. Glad I did. These are very nice quality bags. Plenty of room for lots of stuff. The packing cubes were a very nice addition. They actually helped my husband and I pack a lot smarter on our last trip. The three sizes of bag really give you a nice option if traveling for a week to just a weekend or even overnight. We ordered the burgundy colored bags. I will say that on our last flight we watched our bag go around the carousel a few times before we realized the back of the bags are black and when they land face down you don’t really see the colored side. The burgundy didn’t stand out in a crowd the way I assumed they would when I ordered them. So lesson learned there - tie some colored ribbons on the handle or something to help your bag stand out a bit when upside down. Lol Great bags and great value! ... show more

My wife and I decided to purchase another set of luggage. My current suitcase (which I have owned for nearly 15 years) still looks like New but is carry-on size and we needed to pack much more for this trip. I found this set and it appeared to be unisex and a fair price. I was very happy to have received it. After it's 1st trip on an airline, it looked as if it went through a battle zone. The fabric was showing excess wear, and it was filthy. In fact, if I didn't know better, I'd a thought it was 8-10 years old. I know the airlines aren't the easiest on luggage but I was shocked as to the condition after 1 trip. I literally had to get fabric cleaner and scrub the whole front. Went on our 2nd trip, again on the airlines, only to find the corners showing excessive wear upon reaching our destination on one of the bags. On our return home, the corners on that same bag had torn out at the zippers. We ended up throwing it in the garbage. I'm very unhappy with the quality of the product and the fact that one of the pieces had to be thrown away after only 2 trips. Bare in mind, they were not over packed in the least and they were well under weight. They are simply disposable junk. I didn't not expect a lifetime of use out of this set of luggage, but I did expect it to last longer that 2 trips. We rarely travel and I didn't see a need in spending a small fortune on something that would be seldom used and stored in the corner of a closet. I guess now that I was wrong! ... show more

I was very happy with my purchase initially because the luggage was beautiful and lightweight and inexpensive. However, after several trips with the large one, it started falling apart. I'm not easy on luggage because we have traveled overseas three times in one year but after the third trip one of the outer pockets was half ripped off so I had to resew it. Also, the luggage handle doesn't stay on because the metal bracket holding it together. That happened during the first trip. The metal piece kept splaying apart. It needed to be welded closed. Finally on this last trip (within 13 months of purchase) the top strap ripped off completely, the side handle looks like it will soon, and the pull-out Handle that let you roll it is stuck in the closed position. Don't purchase unless you buy the extended warranty. Oh, and my brother's cat decided to use it as a litter box but that is neither here nor there. But definitely time for a new suitcase! ... show more
