This is a good set of luggage to travel with, I do recommend however that if you are going to travel by any other means other than a car, truck, or van to get a dark colored set because the airplane was not gentle and my new beautiful orange luggage set looks like I've had it for years!

This set was purchased to replace a set of high quality luggage right before a 2-day trip. These are very initial impressions. First, the cases arrived without flaws and lasted their first round-trip (flights, cab, hotel) without anything breaking, tearing or scuffing up. The set of cases are totally functional with the compartments, storage, zippers, pockets and handles one would expect. They're attractive, and our orange color choice made it easy to spot in the sea of black and blue cases coming out of baggage claim. They're lightweight compared to our 13-year-old Samsonite set they replaced, but this makes them feel a bit flimsy and cheaply made. The extender handles are made of cheap feeling plastic. The extenders are made of very thin metal with a lot of slack & jiggle, which makes me feel they will be the first piece to break during the hustle of airport travel and in/out of ground transport. They don't feel solid or sturdy at all. Finally, the bags are very imbalanced when fully packed. They use two wheels instead of four, and the stand at the bottom isn't set correctly to balance the weight to the back wheels. The two bags tipped forward constantly. We had to repack in the terminal to shift some items lower to keep the center of gravity as low as possible, and that only put the bags barely back to balance. A stiff breeze would still push them over the top, falling forward. This is a very average set of affordable luggage, but I wouldn't repurchase after the tipping issue and cheaply made handles. ... show more

If you are looking for lightweight and economical this might be the set for you. We have several cruises coming up soon and we were looking for a few extra pieces. They are pretty, but sturdy is yet to be determined. I found that when packing using the zippered expansion the suitcases will not stand on their own, they fall forward. We ended up adding another piece we already had on hand to solve the problem. This said, the set is pretty. I'll come back with another review after a few trips. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I saw this luggage in a department store for $300 and in another one for $239.99. Amazon had it on sale for the lowest price. It was a little over $100. I inspected this luggage in the store but never took it off the display table. I really wish I would have because if I had known it was going to continuously tip over, I would not have bought it. It's color is burnt orange and lovely in person. I had no place to put a luggage tag and I am using it for a road trip. I will comment further after my trip with additional details. So if you don't mind holding up your luggage with your hip, this could be for you. I really like the color and durability of the luggage it's the whole falling down that ruins it for me. This is a beautiful set of sturdy luggage - and the price point is just right considering that the way airlines treat your baggage, suitcases are basically disposable. The three sizes are very good for travel, with the smaller one being carry on size. The little shoulder bag is OK, as with most suitcase sets, the last piece is usually a throw away - this shoulder bag is actually quite nice and I would use for some overnight trips, maybe for my daughter when she starts having sleep overs or something. I did not travel with it as I take my purse and laptop case as my carry-ons. This last trip I took I only used the larger size because I needed as much space as I could afford - so I took 2 large suitcases. The large from this set was amazing - this is what fit in it (and then some): A queen size down comforter, queen size duvet cover and pillow cases (in retail packaging), queen size sheet set, a bottle of whiskey, and a bottle of wine, 4 pairs of shoes, a Barbie riding a bicycle gift set (in packaging as this was a present I was taking), 3 pairs of shoes, 4 men's dress shirts, 2 pairs of men's jeans, a two weeks supply of women's running clothes....I can't remember anymore, I just kept filling and filling and the bag kept on accepting it, I didn't even have to open the fat man expansion zipper. I was terrified when I got to the airport...I was allowed 50 lbs, and this bag with all of its contents, weighed in at 46 lbs!!! I could have fit another wine bottle ;) The suitcase was also extremely easy to handle and maneuver. I am 5'3" and I am pretty fit, but I am not an Olympian, and I navigated this suitcase, plus another (that weighed in at 56 lbs), a big purse, and a ubber loaded backpack, on a bus, then overseas flight with connection in Miami and I was able to handle everything perfectly with no help - no credit to me, but to this great bag. One trip down, and the bag fared fairly well to the airplane abuse - it was in one piece, but they put something gross on it - so the pretty orange now had greasy streaks on it :( ... show more
