I’m finding that any of the Traeger blend pellets produce way more fly ash than the pure pellets. These produce less fly ash than the select blend but it’s still noticeable. But unlike the select, it has decent flavor. The select covers your food in fly ash and doesn’t impart any smoky flavors. I’ll stick with the pure blends from now on. ... show more

This didnt disappoint in the slightest. I used another "competition blend" from another brand that is a camping chef and it had a ton of wood dust. I was half afraid when i started this bag that it would do the same. It ran much cleaner and more even temp control because of it. I have used this for pork, whole turkey, chicken, venison, beef, smoked deviled eggs, and a tomahawk steak( which the wife has claimed is the best steak of her life).
