I originally picked up the Motorola Moto G 5G (2024) as a backup device to my main iPhone 14 Pro Max, but I have to say, I am genuinely impressed by how much punch this affordable phone packs. The first thing that put a smile on my face was the iconic "Hello Moto" greeting—it’s such a nostalgic touch! For a budget-friendly device, it feels remarkably fast and responsive, and the 5G connectivity has been rock solid with no connection issues whatsoever. The 6.6-inch display is large and vibrant, making it great for scrolling or watching videos, and I was pleasantly surprised by the fast charging capabilities. It also comes with both a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and Face ID support, which is a level of security I didn't necessarily expect at this price point. Both work flawlessly and make getting into the phone a breeze. I did have to spend a fair amount of time diving into the settings to get everything exactly how I wanted it. Out of the box, the notifications were a bit "chatty" and the display settings needed some tweaking so the screen wouldn't light up at every little movement or sound. But once I silenced the unnecessary dings and fixed the display wake-up triggers, it became the perfect secondary device. I purchased several Motorola phones from Tracfone (Moto G Pure, Moto G Play ) for my daughter in the past , I decided on this one because the last phone had sever water damage and wouldn’t turn on a all. She also needed to upgrade her memory anyway , I like that this one has 128GB , I can add an SD card for more storage , it runs on 5G & the price was great for this type of phone . It was easy to set up once I called to have it activated, the only issue I had was when I pressed something that said the phone hasn’t been updated which I regretted doing , because I had to call tech support to get it fixed, then this morning I saw the same thing on the screen but managed to fix it. Hopefully I won’t hit anymore snags with this phone. It’s a nice size 6’6 in screen , Home Screen color is great , ringer is loud , light weight and easy to nagivate around the apps, I would recommend it if you don’t want to spend a whole lot on a phone for a kid. Took me 4 hours to connect phone up to cell system. Tried doing numerous times online with bad results since they do not provide "physical card" needed on the last screen. Ended up calling Tracfone and they told me Amazon doesn't sell a package deal, which after I screen captured and sent him proving it was true. Took lots of doing along with convincing him my old phone was not deactivated, but only suspended for billing reasons. Asked him why would they provide "Transfer Pin" from network only not have it work? Just a waring, but it can be done, just takes some doing. Needed temp phone since I destroyed my Samsun Ultra and I want to purchase new 26Ultra next month. All that being said, it is a very good phone overall, with solid speed and memory especially for the price. They did not include the cube as promised in the ad. The box also doesn't claim to have it on their "included" list. The box also did not include activation card or I could have signed up more easily - they had only listed Serial and SIM card #'s. Probably will complain about 10 watt cube since it's twice as fast than normal ones I think. Just talked to Tracfone and they said to discuss with Amazon, of course has nothing to do with their own listing and false information, so I downgraded by one star. ... show more
