I got these sunglasses because I almost always wear some type of UV-eye protection while outside, most often prescription. I thought these looked interesting. In person, these glasses are very attractive. The lens coating/color goes very well with the tortoise shell frames. The glasses are light and comfortable. The hinges are not spring hinges, but the arms are pre-bent in a curve that hugs my face (ears) well. Glasses always sit on my face crooked, and these are no exception, but I can gently bend the metal part of the arms to compensate. The lens are indeed polarized – I verified by looking at my LCD monitors at an angle. The included “polarized tester” card uses and interesting water/sky simulated scene. When viewed through the glasses at the proper angle, the glassed “cut through” the polarized reflected light to reveal an otherwise hidden scene. The glasses also come with a soft, black pouch with drawstrings. It would be nice to have a hard case, but I have lots just laying around, and adding one to these glasses would only increase the price. There are a couple of minor issues. The tinting is not as dark as I prefer, but adequate. While the front of the lenses have the tinted, colorful, UV coating, the rear of the lenses (ie. closest to your eyes), have no anti-reflective coating. This allows stray reflections of things behind you to be visible. I would not expect such coatings at this price-point. The other issue are small fiducial marks on the lenses that indicate the lens center for manufacturing. These are only visible under special viewing angles and lighting conditions so are not a really an issue. Durability of the frame and the lens coatings is unknown and only time will tell. Other than those very minor issues, I love these glasses! They look great, fit well, are light, and very economical. I may have to pick up a few spares! ... show more
