I was very impressed with the quality of these lights. I bought three sets: one for under my bed frame, one for my headboard, and one for my book case. They are easy to set up in the app, and they look exactly as they do in the advertisements. They're super bright and come with some really cool settings. The main draw back is that the adhesive did not hold up under my bed frame. If you are planning to hang these on an upside down surface, you'll need to get a separate adhesive. I got some wood glue for mine, which solved the problem. This was definitely a headache, but the lights are still worth the purchase. If your goal is to tape these on top of a surface or vertically, the adhesive works fine. ... show more

The RGBW is a must. I first ordered just RGB and the whitest white was purple. These strips give anywhere from warm to bright white. I love the price point especially since these have a water resistant coating so I can use them above my coffee pot and stove (see photos) These are also very bright, I can dim them for the appropriate task. The Tapo L920-10 is amazing! Super easy to setup and connect. App was easy to download and use. Easily connected to the Tapo L920-10! Just make sure your phone and device are both on the 2G network it can connect to. Also, make sure you plug into power as directed. Line up the arrows and it should light up as soon as you push the button. Color and brightness blew me away. The built in effects are a blast to go through and use! My favorite so far is the bubbling cauldron. I have not done any customs effects yet, but will do that very soon. My son has decided to replace his with these. Seal of approval from him! I am pretty sure I will be acquiring more sets in the future to utilize in my display cases! Well done TP-Link!! ... show more

These are OK but not great. The connection needs to be adjusted frequently to ensure power to the light strip. Manufacturer may say I didn’t follow instructions but please the instructions are in pictures the size of a flash card. My big issue with these is that they are supposed to mount with self adhesive tape on the back of the light strip, and it’s super weak. So I got it all set up, worked great, then came down next morning and the lights fell from under my cabinets and into my sink. 10’pieces of duct tape later it’s still a mess. Would not buy again though I do think these will be a good product once the tape is fixed and the manufacturer includes some extra electrical plugs to make it possible to utilize the rest of the LED strip after it is cut to size and you have a ton left over. I’m going to go turn them on. Ow and hope I don’t electrocute myself in the sink ... show more

First reason for a 3 star review is the awful white colors produced by this product. The soft white is terrible and looks pinkish. The second, and I'd like to preface this review by stating I went against manufactures instructions and cut the strip. It can be done and reattached however with issues. Main one is flickering on certain colors at certain brightness settings. I tried using all different types of connectors and used thicker wire (20 gauge) but none of this would fix the flickering towards the end of the run. In my installation (kitchen cabinets, upper and below) and didn't want to use to different straps powered independently. I tried to keep the keep the wire used to connect both pieces as short as possible and also used a thicker gauge, as stated above. Nothing I tried solved the flicker. I imagine it's a power issue and with no way to increase power, the best that I could do was to lower the brightness on certain colors to minimize flicker. The manufacturer should realize that some applications warrant cutting and re-attaching the strip and sell their own connectors. Until then I will shop around for another easier strip to customize. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Overall, happy with the product. Easy to use, nice features, miles ahead of the non-smart ones I got at a big box store for the same price. When I was looking for light strips, I found it quite difficult to get information from reliable sources regarding spacing between cut-points, whether reconnection is possible after a cut, etc. Especially when it came to "smart" strips. The manufacturer states repeatedly than any bit cut off is no longer usable and should be discarded. Other reviews back this up (I'm assuming without much or any testing). I assume the manufacturer says this because they don't want to provide support to people who lack the skills or materials to do it properly. I broke my second set trying to bend it around a corner. I lost the final meter of the strip. I had already bought a bunch of different connectors from playing w/ the big box set, and had nothing to lose. I cut out the damaged section and reconnected the ends with a jumper harness. The lights still function and will perform scenes and effects past the break/repair. It is running the Aurora effect in the video and you can clearly see the the effect span the repair cable and continue down the strip. I used punch-down connectors, but the spring clip style or direct soldering should work just as well. If using the punch-down or springs, be sure to cut the strip so you have the entire copper pad. DO NOT cut in the middle of it like the decal shows. Center cut leaves both ends too short for the connectors I had to hold onto tight enough to keep a connection. Center cuts are fine for soldering if you know how to do it. Remove clear rubbery all-weather coating on top. Use a box cutter or razor and cut carefully down to, but into or through the actual white strip. This has to be peeled back and cleaned/picked off from all of the copper pads or the connection will be bad. Spacing between cut points is every 3 LEDs, just about 4" apart. Every fifth space is a solder joint, not a copper pad. Likely still usable as a reconnect point with solder. Spring-clamp style connectors would probably work as well, though I have not tested this yet. ... show more
