Description

The Touch 4 fingertip control is an all-new approach to TIG welding amperage hand controls. The idea is simple and innovative, and the result is a steady hand and excellent control. Instead of a knob that you have to turn or a slider that you have to move while trying to hold your TIG torch steady, the Touch 4 relies on pressure applied by your finger. The Touch 4 works in steps: you apply pressure to turn on the contactor, giving you your low-amps setting, and then you increase pressure through 4 steps: 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of the setting on your panel. Set the amps on your panel equal to (or slightly higher than, depending on your preference) the suggested current for the thickness and metal type, and then you simply dither to create the puddle and weld that you want. This model is for Miller welders that use the 14-pin plug (that plugs into the 14-socket remote output receptacle on the welder). Can be used to replace Miller hand controls such as the RCCS-14 (043668) or RCC-14 (151086) or the RFCS-14 foot pedal (043554). Note: Will not work on Miller EconoTIG (it allows on/off but no control when used on the EconoTIG). Includes 30-day money-back guarantee. US Patent 9,550,250 B2. Designed and made in the USA.

I love that this is quick on and easy to get used to. Set max power on your machine, and this modulates it in 4 equal steps. I don't like the tiny screw towards the front fell out after a year of use :(

I have only used this remote control once but it works great and exactly as described by the seller. The instructions state that the switch is extremely sensitive and it does take some practice to get used too. Some of my welding projects require squatting down or laying down to weld making a pedal control almost impossible to use. This control is the answer and a bargain price compared to other remote amperage control devices. The metal connector is sweet! Has good action on the switch. I mostly use the foot pedal but this will come in handy laying under a car welding exhaust systems.

Decent concept. Took me a minute to get feel for the 4 stage micro switches, but now im pretty good at it. I will not weld without it now. Went back to old welder at shop with pedal and im like wheres my trigger!

I really like this. It makes it easy to go from cooling down to full power to just a little more. They got everything just right. No, it’s not my foot pedal, but it’s as close as I’ve seen to a replacement for one as it gets. My Miller east-west wheel control is going up on eBay very soon. I HATED that thing, and never could get good results with it. This SSC Touch4 is totally natural feeling, and exceeds my expectations.
