Part of the newly redesigned C Series, the WASHLET+ C5 is fully automated, featuring a soft rear spray, rear cleanse, and front cleanse with the option of an oscillating or pulsating stream . The controls are located on a slim, wireless remote. PREMIST® wets the surface of the toilet bowl, aiding in the removal of waste and resulting in a better clean. The C5 model utilizes TOTO's EWATER+® system when the wand self-cleans. EWATER+ transforms the water into a safe and powerful compound, creating peace of mind by cleaning the inside and outside of the wand before and after every use.     • OMG, why did I wait so long to order this?!
We installed a Toto Nexus toilet last year, and balked at the price of adding a washlet. The washlet also requires an outlet next to the toilet, which we didn't have, so the total price quoted was over our budget. The Toto toilet alone was a surprisingly worthwhile upgrade, and this year I broke down and ordered the C5 washlet to go with it. My wife is still thanking me. --BEFORE YOU ORDER-- There are a bunch of different washlets to fit different toilet sizes, so if you order one, you need to look at the specs closely to make sure you order the right model to fit your toilet. I almost ordered the wrong one. Anyway, I ordered the C5 washlet from Amazon and installed the electrical outlet. The washlet installation instructions were reasonably clear and the installation took about an hour at my slow & deliberate pace with absolutely no problems encountered. Now for the product review. A good washlet like the C5 is not a gimmick or some kind of frivolous luxury item. To be frank, your butt will thank you every time you use it. Forget about using lots of TP to wipe, only to find you're not completely clean--the washlet will rinse you off with warm water (water strength and position are adjustable) and even air dry you. The C5 also sprays a mist of water in the toilet bowl when you sit down to reduce the chance of stuff sticking to the bowl. The warm seat is especially nice in the cold months. To top it off, the air, water, & seat temperature settings are all adjustable, and two user profiles can be saved on the wall-mountable remote control. As happy as we are with the washlet, I wouldn't go to the expense of installing one on every toilet in the house. One was enough to make a real difference every day. I purchased this along with the Toto CST646CEMFGAT40 toilet base for a bathroom remodel. It would have all been a waste without this. I thought the reviews I've read on bidets probably included a fair amount of sensational hype. My wife's eyes rolled out of her head when I told her how much our toilet cost. Now, a month later, we are believers. The most significant benefit is that you really are left much cleaner, and use much less toilet paper. I'm reminded of a quote from the great Andrew Dwyer, of Pawnee; "I wipe, and I wipe, and I wipe, and yet, still poo. It's like wiping a marker." That's not a problem any more. You only need enough toilet paper to dry off if you don't want to wait for the air dryer (I don't use that, but it works). Needing to wipe a 2nd time will become a nostalgic memory. Imagine wiping a chicken wing inside your elbow, wiping the sauce off with a napkin, then declaring yourself clean. That's what using only toilet paper is like. Now we feel a noticeable difference during the day. I didn't know what a bad job just toilet paper did before, but now it's clear. The remote is easy to use. I typically only use 2-3 buttons on it now that I have things figured out. I found the heated water and heated seat was not necessary, so I turned them off, at least until winter. The water pressure has a wide adjustment range, from just a little greeting, to powerful enough I'm sure the stream would fly out of the toilet and hit the opposite wall if I wasn't sitting there. The bidet's extended length is adjustable by remote, and can also oscillate up and down. I prefer to just shimmy around for a few seconds. So far after a month there is not one speck in the toilet bowl. I don't know how long it will be until the toilet bowl needs to be cleaned. The odor fan is incredible. I haven't smelled my own accomplishments once. My wife says the same. The flush is much quieter than our last toilet. My only problems with this is that it looks BIG. The lid cover is significantly longer than last toilet, I would guess 3-4 inches. Somehow though, the seat doesn't seem long enough. I'm 5'9", 210 lbs, and I wish for another inch of space in front (at least) to keep my knob from touching the seat. Overall, totally happy with this. I wouldn't go back.     • Comfort that begins with first use.
It works perfectly. It seems to clean itself. My plumber installed it easily. It comes with great long term cleaning instructions. It is a quality lid. The warmth is a good level for my wife and me. It is very attractive when the top lid is shut. Two people can program it to their needs.

    • High Quality Bidet
This is my first bidet, but I did not want to skimp on features and I was not disappointed. the TOTO definitely has the feel and function of a high quality product and my first time using it made me an instant believer to the superiority of the bidet over toilet paper, especially considering that my toilet is set into a tight space and I'm a big guy which had led to problems with bending and maneuvering before. Now, using the throne is as simple as doing my business and then being washed and dried without having to bend or rock back and forth in the slightest. It really is life changing. My only complaint is that we had some difficulty securing the mount for the bidet to the toilet. The porcelain of the toilet seems to be a little bit thin for what the manufacturers had in mind considering the length of the included bolts. Even when tightened down completely, there was still a big gap which caused the mount to wobble around unsecured. We added a couple extra padded washers from a different toilet kit, but even that did not fully resolve the issue. If the mount had tightened down completely, I'd have no problem giving this product a full set of stars. ... show more
