Description

The TOTO® WASHLET® C5 Elongated Electric Bidet Toilet Seat with PREMIST® delivers ecology-minded luxury with a streamlined design. Unlike traditional toilet paper that can often be rough and ineffective, the WASHLET quickly provides comfortable warm water cleansing at the touch of a button. Part of the newly redesigned C Series, the WASHLET C5 is fully automated, featuring a soft rear spray, rear cleanse, and front cleanse with the option of an oscillating or pulsating stream. The controls are located on a slim, wireless remote. PREMIST® wets the surface of the toilet bowl, aiding in the removal of waste and resulting in a better clean. The C5 model utilizes TOTO's EWATER+® system when the wand self-cleans. EWATER+ transforms the water into a safe and powerful compound, creating peace of mind by cleaning the inside and outside of the wand before and after every use. The C5 WASHLET features a heated SoftClose® seat with five temperature settings, an air deodorizer, and a warm air dryer with five temperature settings. Using a WASHLET reduces the need for toilet paper, saving trees and water used to manufacture each roll. As we get older, reduced mobility, medical conditions, and debilitating illnesses can make it increasingly hard to clean ourselves after using the toilet. I recently purchased the Toto Washlet C5, and it has transformed my bathroom experience. My primary reasons for buying it were improved hygiene and comfort, and it has exceeded my expectations on both fronts. Setting up the Washlet C5 was straightforward. I was able to handle the plumbing myself without any issues and no leaks encountered. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, though I will say the black rubber bolts you screw into weren't immediately intuitive. I did opt to hire an electrician to install a new outlet in my bathroom, as the unit requires power, but this was a planned step and not a surprise. I had no other unexpected challenges during installation. I use the warm water wash, heated seat, warm air dryer, and oscillating spray every single time. The pulsating spray also gets some use. The cleaning performance is effective, and the water pressure is perfectly comfortable. It's more effective at cleaning than other bidets I've used, even those with higher water pressure settings. The warm air dryer is effective if you're patient enough to use it for a longer duration, though I generally still use a small amount of toilet paper for a quick finish, significantly reducing my overall paper consumption. As for the automatic air deodorizer and EWATER+ features, I haven't noticed a significant difference, but their presence doesn't detract from the overall performance. The wireless remote control is intuitive to use, and the included mount allowed me to place it right next to the toilet. The seat itself is comfortable to sit on, and despite being a sizable unit, the overall design is aesthetically pleasing and fits well in my bathroom. The SoftClose lid and seat are a nice touch. While the price reflects its quality, the Toto Washlet C5 stands out among other bidets I've tried. I recommend the Toto Washlet C5 to anyone looking to upgrade their bathroom experience. Very simple steps to clean the deodorizer (and no need to buy new one as deodorizer is reusable), the wand and the water filter. Wife has been wanting one for a long time. When we got a gift card we got it. It was easy to install. That is contingent on having an outlet nearby to plug the seat in. But installing the water inlets splitter and the seat mount were quick and straight forward. Once mount is set you just snap in the washlet. You can mount the remote or not but I mounted ours. It has settings for two people you can save. Once installed wife set up hers quickly. I set up mine later and we both love it. Lots to customize from where the water hits to how hot the seat is. This is an upgrade from a non-electric bidet. TLDR: a huge upgrade in terms of comfort and performance. Obviously, it costs a lot more than the one it replaced. Installation - I am comfortable doing around-the-house project work. I consider this to be a pretty easy installation. I had no leaks and it worked fine the first time I installed it. The only minor issue I ran into was the location of the "snap on" latch (the seat slides into it). The manual was confusing. I figured it out, but still not sure what they described. Features: heated seat, pre-mist the bowl, heated water, air dryer, different settings for the water wand. -The heated seat will be a personal preference. Our bathroom is not really cold in the winter, but it is nice to sit down and have a warm seat. There are three levels of heat - lowest is my favorite, the highest value is quite warm. -Pre-mist. It basically sprays part of the inside of the toilet before someone uses it. The idea is that, uh, less stuff will stick and should be less messy. Seems to work. -Heated water. My old bidet just used the cold water. Our water is cold - especially in the winter. It was not pleasant getting sprayed by freezing water. The heated water is great! However, the tank seems to not hold much water. After a minute, I notice the water is no longer as warm as it used to be. This model has a limited tank size. This is disappointing - would expect enough water for at least 2 minutes. -Air dryer. Another nice feature. Instead of using toilet paper to dry off, use the air dryer. It has three levels of heat. The air output is not super powerful. To dry your rear, I would guess it make take about 2 minutes of air to do the job. It would be nice if it had a bit more power. Heat levels are good - you will not be burning your back (or front). -Water pressure. This was designed well. You can go with a limited amount of pressure up to a higher pressure. Even at the highest, it is not uncomfortable. My old bidet could actually cause an injury at full blast! -Wand length. One other nice setting is the ability to adjust how far out the wand sticks. You can adjust until it finds the right spot. This should allow people to adjust it to their personal body layout. -Oscillating wand. When the device is spraying, it moves back and forth to do a much better job of cleaning you. It cuts down on what I called the "bidet scoot" - this is where you move your body to make sure the water hits the right spots. You still need to do a little bit of this action, but much less. -Remote. I think the remote is confusing at first. You figure it out, but some of the icons are not very clear. The back of the remote is difficult to use - you will need the manual to make full use of it. However, I think once you set things up on the back, you most likely will not need to change settings. -Seat heat. This might not really be a feature, but the set is about a half inch taller than my old toilet seat. My knees love the added height! -Odor filter. A fan pulls in air from the inside of the bowl and passes it over a filter. It is supposed to reduce odor. It does not have any type of fragrance/perfume. I am not sure how well this works. Summary: this bidet is expensive compared to some of the non-electric bidets (and more than other electric bidets for that). You have to decide if the comfort and benefits are worth it. Had I known about the limited amount of hot water, I would have spent extra to get one that has unlimited heated water. My review is 4/5 based on that. ... show more
