  • Life Changing
UPDATED 5/20/2019 (9 months use): Still going strong, update on cons below I've had this thing about 2 weeks, and holy wow... what was I doing with my life before this. This should be mandatory in all homes. I am giving this 5 stars with some caveats (on installation issues that others and myself have encountered). I plan to update if I find any more issues as time goes on. The biggest plus for me is this just makes you clean. If you suffer from 'issues' in the region, this is a must I think . TP can be harsh on sensitive bums... this helps tremendously. So the pluses. 1) Great water pressure, water is hot and you can change the temp. God my bum feels great. 2) Multiple positions for the bidet function. You can oscillate the sprayer, or use the remote to move it up and down while shifting your bum. 3) Heated seat is absolutely luxurious early in the morning. 4) Remote control. I debated between this version and the version without and am ultimately glad I went with the remote version. I feel like it might be awkward to have to shift your body to hit the buttons on the side of the washlet. The remote comes with a great magnetic mounting bracket that you can put right by your toilet. 60 extra dollar well spent for remote. 5) Fit: It fit my toilet just right, no issues with installation from a sizing perspective (see note below on T connector). The cons (more like slight annoyances): 1) Installation issues. I had similar issues to others when I installed and had a small leak. I didn't get a great connection at first, and had to remove the seat and tighten up a bit more with the supplied rubber washer. Now, no leak. So all good. 2) Wish the tank were a little bigger. I like the water blazing hot, and I get about a minute of it which is great, but would love it to last a bit longer. UPDATE: It lasts long enough, as long as you are not using highest settings of pressure. 3) Dryer doesn't blow enough force as others have mentioned. This is only minor to me. A little tp at the end is okay. UPDATE: It's enough.... anything more might be uncomfortable. 4) Price - it's expensive, but it does appear to be good quality. Just can't afford to put this on more than one toilet at the moment. I will update this review if I run in to any issues down the road. *** Update 12/5/2018 *** Now had this several months and still very happy with the performance. Self cleaning works well, heated seat is great. I end up preferring to oscillating mode, and often manually move the sprayer up and down. I find the minor annoyances have mostly gone away from the original review. The dryer and tank issues are pretty much non issues (I rarely run out of hot water). I use this with an extension cord, and have had zero issues. I used electrical tape to ensure no moisture seeping in at the connection point, and have it hooked in to a GFCI outlet UPDATE 5/20/2019: Still going well, great product well worth the price. I am considering adding a 2nd in the home. Some people including myself have had times when you might get a bit 'surprised' by the pressure coming from the bidet. This is important, and I read it wrong in another review. If you accidentally press the rear button twice (ie, you double tap it) the 'soft' water spray turns off, and switches to hard for a stronger spray. Another push of the bottom will move it back to soft. Hope that helps someone when you get surprised by the bidet. It will happen, and it took me months before I realized what was happening. So in all caps as it may help folks: THERE ARE TWO PRESSURE FUNCTIONS SOFT AND HARD, and EACH HAS MULTIPLE LEVELS OF PRESSURE. ... show more

  • leaks water everywhere at T connector
This is a nice toilet seat. It's not the fanciest Toto washlet I've used (which had a lid that was automatic and played bird sounds or a trickling stream while you were on it) but it's up there with the warm tank water and the heated seat. It can save two users, which doesn't seem like enough for me because while we have two users, I need two different settings for #1 and #2. Anyway, to the terrible part about this toilet seat, which is looking like it's going to cost me a couple grand to fix. It leaks tremendously. Installing the toilet onto the toilet bowl is easy, plugging it in is easy, but the T-connector leaks tremendously. I had put a bowl under the area to catch the leaking, which was maybe a drop after each use, but over time the drop became two drops, and then like a quick trickle, and then it was just dribbling all the time. I had looked at the other reviwers on here, and one of them said to buy an extra part that was like $30 more. It was leaking with that part, which I had installed since the beginning. Because it was leaking so much, the water's overflown one weekend here, one weekend there, while we were away, and ruined the plaster ceiling of our kitchen, which is directly under the bathroom. I have no words. I finally stopped the leaking for good by applying plummer's tape to the leaking connection. The leak is in the middle part of the T. It's a metal threaded hole that clearly needs a rubber ring or something inside, because besides the threads being snug, there's nothing to stop the water from leaking out, and there is not all the snugness in the world to prevent water from leaking out from two metal parts fastened together. For that, it needs rubber or silicone or something that will form an actual seal, but there's nothing in there to do that. So it leaked all over the floor over and over for a year, and the ceiling is ruined. I guess, if you buy this seat, be sure to hire a plummer to install it, because it leaks terribly, even if you buy that extra part. Also, I wondered if the toilet could function as a peri bottle after giving birth, and it's too strong for that even at the lowest setting. It does have very low pressure if you use it right after somebody else. Anyway, yeah, besides the cost of this toilet, calculate in the cost of a plummer. In the US anyway, you can't install this by yourself. ... show more

  • Using the toilet is now a better experience.
We were introduced to Toto when we were in Japan and decided to add one to our bathroom remodel and we have been using it for 6 months. . It works really well, just like those in Japan. It was easy for me to install on a standard toilet using the instructions. I had seen various cautions about not overtightening the water connections and I was careful. It happened that we were able add a GFCI outlet nearby during our remodel. Life seems to be a little better with this bidet cleaning system and much less toilet paper. It is extremely intuitive for making adjustments to the temperature of the water and the seat and the user settings pressure, position, pulsating etc. are simple and very intuitive This unit installed easily on a standard US toilet. It would be pretty easy to detach and ship for repair if needed. Probably the ideal would be the integrated Toto toilet unit but I wondered how service would happen in the event of malfunction. The only downside is that somehow a tiny piece was omitted or shipped loose in the package and was lost but it was easy to get to customer service for a replacement and took just a few days. Also by the time it installs on an elongated toilet the seat itself is more the dimension of an older non elongated seat and a few times someone has over shot the target out of being in the habit of using an elongated seat. I would not want to use in a hall bath to surprise new users and children to the surprises that come with first use of a Toto Electronic Bidet. Yes I would absolutely recommend this Toto unit. Warm seat in the winter, warm water cleaning, warm air drying and a high degree of adjustability of pressure and position there is nothing not to like. ... show more
