I was hoping that this umbrella would close all the way down, and be in the position to carry, as a small umbrella. It only closes partially, at the top. I still have my Tote umbrella from 7 years ago but wanted a more classic design. I can say this so far has held up through a absolute down pour with heavy wind and my toddlers “helping” mommy use it. This is perfect for when your hands are full and don’t need something else heavy to carry, or aren’t wanting to get soaked getting in and out of the car.
