This is a very light-weight and well made ultra compact umbrella, that I would always leave it in my bag. Who wants to carry a heavy umbrella all the time on the go? And do not want to carry extra weight around. This is perfect to block sunlight, and light rain. It's rather too small for some upscale or torrential rain. I would always go for a bigger sized umbrella in that case, when it's raining rather heavy out there. I was not really expecting this mini sized umbrella could handle heavy rain occasion, but at least I would be without an umbrella at all times in any case. I really wanted to love this and have a nice travel umbrella to keep in my bag, but this one is just too small. It's only 6 inches when folded and very lightweight which is great, but opens to a small child sized umbrella. Maybe if it was automatic open & close it might be useful.
