I needed an umbrella to keep in my bookbag at all times, (have been caught in a few rainstorms in the past without an umbrella and it sucked). For that reason I chose this totes mini umbrella. It has an automatic open close function which is awesome. The coverage area is quite small, but for the purpose of being an "emergency" umbrella, this does its job well.     • Small and convenient
This umbrella is compact enough that I can tuck it into a back pocket. This makes carrying an umbrella "just in case" a very small burden. The first press of the button on the handle causes the pole to extend and the canopy to open. A second press of the button causes the canopy to collapse. The user then has to compress the pole, and this readies the spring for the next use. I liked my first one so much that I bought a second one to keep in my glove compartment. As with many things, there may be more sturdy or generally "nicer" umbrellas out there, but this one is so small and convenient that I am vastly more likely to carry and use it. As others have noted, be careful when selecting your color. As of this writing, there is a "colors may vary" option for which the default picture is a dark color - perhaps black or navy. If you want to be sure that you get a dark one like black or navy rather than one of the brighter options, be sure to select that color. ... show more

    • Flimsy and not worth buying

I have bought totes umbrellas over the years and have several other ones. This one the product quality is terrible. I had to buy it twice in a few month's time. The first one turned inside out on a windy day, one spoke broke and now it is bent on one side and not usable. The second one the handle broke and completely fell apart while closing the umbrella. I do not recommend this product. Not sure why the quality is so much lower than Totes umbrellas made in the past, but this one is badly made and does not last. ... show more

    • Perfect for Travel
Brought this umbrella to Europe with me and I was glad I did because it kept me dry from the rain a few different times. It was small and light enough that I could keep in my bag while walking around and it wasn't in the way or too heavy. I liked the style, it wasn't too flashy our touristy looking. Not big enough for two people to comfortably walk under so make sure to buy another for your significant other. I love the ease of popping it open with one button. My only reason for not giving it a whole 5 is that you need to put some muscle in while closing it all the way. The button will collapse the umbrella but you will need both hands to get it to click in. Definitely recommend. ... show more

    • Great push button umbrella and it's only 7.5"
Works quite well and the size is 7.5" when folded. This one has a push button feature for both opening and closing. That works very well too. The coverage is quite good for a very small umbrella, but a bit testy for two people. I haven't tested it in windy conditions, only light winds, but the construction looks strong enough to hold up in at least moderate winds if not more. In case you are curious, Totes makes an even smaller one (only 5.8") that they call a "purse" umbrella that I reviewed earlier and it is excellent. Relax guys, the purse thing is just a name. It's a black umbrella that you put in your pocket. These mini umbrellas are great when you don't want to tote around a large umbrella all day. ... show more

I was afraid this was going to be a knock off so I didn't know what to expect. I bought it to replace one I had just like it that I left in a rental car. This is even better than the one I had before and that one lasted me over 7 years.
