I don’t know how well this paint will prevent marine growth but it went on great, coverage is very good and there was bonus paint pan, roller and cover, and paper coveralls and gloves. The can is quite heavy, meaning, to me, that there is a good amount of copper in the paint. The boat is in brackish water in SWFlorida. The can is bent up and bottom is not close to being round as a gallon of paint should be. See photos. The can was surrounded with cardboard and the box had paper stuffed in around the can. The box was in good condition, so the can had to be placed in the box in the damaged condition. Very disappointed, but I can’t wait for another one to be shipped. After reading previous comments regarding this product, I figured the can would arrive dented. I was not disappointed. This is not Amazon's fault but the manufacturer for poor packaging. That is why I made it 4 stars out of 5. Surprisingly, the paint was very easy to stir by hand and went on great. Dried to the touch in a few hours while painting at 60 degrees. Have not launched the boat for the season yet so I cannot rate the durability but will try and update this when I pull the boat out in November. ... show more

This is the first time I have used Total Boat's SPARTAN. I am impressed with the coverage and looks good too. The boat is in the water on the South Texas Coast, and back in the water for several months now and still see almost no growth below the waterline. Update: 06DEC2021 After scrubbing and cleaning the algae from the bottom of my boat, the attached barnacles popped off rather easily from the painted surface as compared to my outdrive. Therefore, there was some benefit to using the Totalboat Spartan antifouling paint after all. Updating the number of stars and title of the review. I must have received the same bad lot of TotalBoat Spartan that Kimberlee Sweitzer did. What a waste of my time and money scraping, sanding, prepping the surface, and applying the recommended two coats. As you can see in the photos, after only 6 months in the marina, the "protected" bottom has only a slightly thinner layer of algae and barnacles than my unpainted outdrive. Did TotalBoat forget to put in the advertised level of copper? Is this the kind of result that I can expect from TotalBoat products? If so, I will buy from a competitor somewhere else. Good paint, applied nicely, looks good. Will know better at next haul out. Only issue was the cans (3) were heavily dented through Amazon . When I bought directly from Total Boat they came a well packaged box and were in good shape. Would use again but purchase directly from TB.
