Description

TotalBoat Wet Edge Topside Marine Boat Paint is an easy-to-use, 1-component, polyurethane marine grade paint that provides a beautiful, brilliant, resilient, high-gloss finish on hulls, cabin tops, consoles and other topside surfaces above the waterline. Use on fiberglass, wood, metals and previously painted surfaces in good condition. Provides excellent weather resistance so the finish retains its superior color quality and gloss. Once cured, the extremely durable finish will not fade, lift, crack, or peel. The high-solids content in Wet Edge makes it look better and last longer. It's also why you need to apply thin coats - 2 to 3 coats are all you need for long-lasting beauty and shine. Wet Edge gives you the high gloss and durability of a 2-part polyurethane without all the hard work. It's very easy to apply, has excellent flow out, and dries perfectly smooth. For best results, prime bare wood or previously painted surfaces with TotalBoat Premium Topside Primer. Use TotalBoat Dewaxer & Surface Prep as a solvent wipe to remove grease, oil and other contaminants. Wet Edge may be thinned with TotalBoat Special Brushing Thinner 100 (brush/roll application) or xylene (spray application). Application temperature is 50-90 degrees F. Wet Edge is also compatible with non-skid additives and flattening agents for 1-component polyurethane paint. Compare Wet Edge marine paint for fiberglass boats to Interlux Brightside Polyurethane, Pettit Easypoxy and Pettit EZPoxy, Rustoleum Marine Topside Paint, Duralux Marine Paint and Epifanes Monourethane. Wet Edge offers superior durability, color retention, gloss retention, and weather resistance, which also makes it an ideal canoe paint, kayak paint, camper paint, rv exterior paint, or golf cart paint. For an excellent aluminum boat paint, use TotalBoat Aluminum Boat Topside Paint. All TotalBoat products are developed for boaters by boaters, to provide great value and great results. 100% made in the USA.

  • Outstanding Marine Paint – Long-Lasting and Easy to Apply
Size: 128 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: Classic Whaler Blue
TotalBoat Wet Edge is hands down one of the best topside paints I’ve used. The application process was incredibly smooth — it levels beautifully, even with a brush or roller, and dries to a high-gloss, professional-looking finish. One of the best features is how durable and long-lasting it is. It holds up well in tough marine conditions, resisting UV rays, saltwater, and weathering with no peeling or fading even after extended exposure. The coverage is excellent, and it’s available in a great selection of vibrant, lasting colors. Whether you’re touching up or doing a full refinish, this paint gives a strong, clean, and polished look that really lasts. If you want a reliable, high-quality marine paint that’s easy to work with and delivers exceptional results, TotalBoat Wet Edge is the way to go. ... show more

  • Follow Instructions and Get Near-Spray Quality Finish
Size: 32 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: Yellow
First, I had never painted a boat and was dubious about reports of near-spray quality results with any of the boat paints. My boat is old so I figured anything would be an improvement. I chose Total Boat mainly because it was easier through Amazon. I mixed two parts Yellow with one part Fighting Lady. (Can't add pigment. You have to mix Wet Edge paint instead). I was amazed at the smooth finish of the final paint job. I think that it is 85% of a spray job. If I had thought that it would turn out this well I would have been more careful with the primer coats and prep. Advice: Painting outdoors is challenging. Each coat takes several days to dry and then you have to fight rain, humidity and temperature. I finished it in the garage and it was a snap. For me, the primer was really thick, went on with a lot of orange peel and it dried slowly, and it was clumping during sanding because I didn't let it cure (all problems were user error). When the primer was cured it was easily sanded down and may have helped with smoothing the fiberglass imperfections. The primer prep is he key to a quality paint job. Take your time here. The paint went on well. The first coat had some orange peel because I put it on too thick and didn't have a quality paint brush. It was remediated when I sanded it down (again, wait for it to cure!). I applied the last coat uncomfortably thin with tip and roll, and it turned out marvelous! It took 1 gallon of primer and about 1/2 gallon of paint for an 18' boat. Use a 1/8" foam roller (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0168S0ETE?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) for the areas you want to look perfect, and use a true badger hair brush (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000N9LE80?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1). It is worth the money for this task. ... show more

  • Don't fall for the temptation!!
Size: 32 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: Kingston Gray
After the first coat, which was well thinned, I was tempted to call the job finished. The way this paint flows is incredible! Granted, it's been nearly 30 years since I've painted a boat, and have never used a paint like this before, but after the first coat it looked so good that even The Bride (who is a stickler for "perfection") thought I was finished with the job. I have never looked forward to painting before, but can hardly wait to find something else to use the remainder of this paint on. After the second coat had cured, I intentionally scratched it to see how strong it was, and I am really impressed with the quality. When the paint was delivered, the can had been damaged in shipping. There was a serious dent in the edge of the lid. Had I removed the lid, I would have been unable to re-seal it. I asked Amazon for a replacement, but found I could not return it because of some legal reason. After a short chat with customer service, I was told to keep the dented can and to be expecting another can. When the second can was delivered, it too had a small dent, but this was in the side and the lid was undamaged. I was impressed with the speed with which the replacement arrived, and it made me happy to be an Amazon customer. TotalBoat is an incredible company, and I encourage anybody who is even slightly interested in top quality products to review their extensive videos. I've spent hours learning new techniques and I've been messing with boats for years, but this is the first re-painting I've done in probably 30 years, and the technology has progressed a lot. This painting job was actually fun because of TotalBoat's quality and sharing of information. ... show more

  • Seafoam is not the seafoam color as advertised
Size: 32 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: Blue-Glo White
Just writing this so people know. It is NOT a seafoam green color. It’s more of a light blue color. I think it looks very nice, but is not even remotely close to a seafoam color. And yes I mixed it very well before applying.

  • Excellent Product
Size: 32 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: Largo Blue
Bought this to paint my pool slide in place instead of taking it down and taking it to a body shop to be sprayed with automotive enamel. Pleasantly surprised when I opened the can - color and consistency both very good. Emptied it into my bucket and then used mineral spirits to “wash” the can in order to pick up any pigment residue. I used mineral spirits as a thinner since I was brushing this on and wanted to give it time to flash out before drying. Paint went on smoothly and covered very well using a Purdy nylon brush. Cleaned my brush with gasoline for first two cleaning and mineral spirits for the last one each time. Drying time between coats was overnight and there were no soft spots. Couple of sags where I over applied it but they sanded out quickly. Have now applied three coats scuffing between coats with a Scotchbrite pad and I am very pleased with the results. Appears to have bonded well and the gloss is outstanding. As with any oil based enamel it takes some practice when brushing it on - it is prone to sags and runs if too much is applied. Will be interesting to see how this holds up through a swimming season and the blazing sun. ... show more
