Description

TotalBoat Wet Edge Topside Marine Boat Paint is an easy-to-use, 1-component, polyurethane marine grade paint that provides a beautiful, brilliant, resilient, high-gloss finish on hulls, cabin tops, consoles and other topside surfaces above the waterline. Use on fiberglass, wood, metals and previously painted surfaces in good condition. Provides excellent weather resistance so the finish retains its superior color quality and gloss. Once cured, the extremely durable finish will not fade, lift, crack, or peel. The high-solids content in Wet Edge makes it look better and last longer. It's also why you need to apply thin coats - 2 to 3 coats are all you need for long-lasting beauty and shine. Wet Edge gives you the high gloss and durability of a 2-part polyurethane without all the hard work. It's very easy to apply, has excellent flow out, and dries perfectly smooth. For best results, prime bare wood or previously painted surfaces with TotalBoat Premium Topside Primer. Use TotalBoat Dewaxer & Surface Prep as a solvent wipe to remove grease, oil and other contaminants. Wet Edge may be thinned with TotalBoat Special Brushing Thinner 100 (brush/roll application) or xylene (spray application). Application temperature is 50-90 degrees F. Wet Edge is also compatible with non-skid additives and flattening agents for 1-component polyurethane paint. Compare Wet Edge marine paint for fiberglass boats to Interlux Brightside Polyurethane, Pettit Easypoxy and Pettit EZPoxy, Rustoleum Marine Topside Paint, Duralux Marine Paint and Epifanes Monourethane. Wet Edge offers superior durability, color retention, gloss retention, and weather resistance, which also makes it an ideal canoe paint, kayak paint, camper paint, rv exterior paint, or golf cart paint. For an excellent aluminum boat paint, use TotalBoat Aluminum Boat Topside Paint. All TotalBoat products are developed for boaters by boaters, to provide great value and great results. 100% made in the USA.

  • Outstanding Marine Paint – Long-Lasting and Easy to Apply
Size: 128 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: Classic Whaler Blue
TotalBoat Wet Edge is hands down one of the best topside paints I’ve used. The application process was incredibly smooth — it levels beautifully, even with a brush or roller, and dries to a high-gloss, professional-looking finish. One of the best features is how durable and long-lasting it is. It holds up well in tough marine conditions, resisting UV rays, saltwater, and weathering with no peeling or fading even after extended exposure. The coverage is excellent, and it’s available in a great selection of vibrant, lasting colors. Whether you’re touching up or doing a full refinish, this paint gives a strong, clean, and polished look that really lasts. If you want a reliable, high-quality marine paint that’s easy to work with and delivers exceptional results, TotalBoat Wet Edge is the way to go. ... show more

  • Follow Instructions and Get Near-Spray Quality Finish Follow Instructions and Get Near-Spray Quality Finish
Size: 32 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: Yellow
First, I had never painted a boat and was dubious about reports of near-spray quality results with any of the boat paints. My boat is old so I figured anything would be an improvement. I chose Total Boat mainly because it was easier through Amazon. I mixed two parts Yellow with one part Fighting Lady. (Can't add pigment. You have to mix Wet Edge paint instead). I was amazed at the smooth finish of the final paint job. I think that it is 85% of a spray job. If I had thought that it would turn out this well I would have been more careful with the primer coats and prep. Advice: Painting outdoors is challenging. Each coat takes several days to dry and then you have to fight rain, humidity and temperature. I finished it in the garage and it was a snap. For me, the primer was really thick, went on with a lot of orange peel and it dried slowly, and it was clumping during sanding because I didn't let it cure (all problems were user error). When the primer was cured it was easily sanded down and may have helped with smoothing the fiberglass imperfections. The primer prep is he key to a quality paint job. Take your time here. The paint went on well. The first coat had some orange peel because I put it on too thick and didn't have a quality paint brush. It was remediated when I sanded it down (again, wait for it to cure!). I applied the last coat uncomfortably thin with tip and roll, and it turned out marvelous! It took 1 gallon of primer and about 1/2 gallon of paint for an 18' boat. Use a 1/8" foam roller (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0168S0ETE?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) for the areas you want to look perfect, and use a true badger hair brush (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000N9LE80?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1). It is worth the money for this task. ... show more

  • Lays down like spray paint with a foam roller. Lays down like spray paint with a foam roller.
Size: 32 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: Largo Blue
This paint lays down really well. I used the top boat primer and sanded it smooth. Then rolled the pool slide with 2 coats. Turned out really nice my pool guy was amazed with the results.

  • Seafoam is not the seafoam color as advertised Seafoam is not the seafoam color as advertised
Size: 32 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: Blue-Glo White
Just writing this so people know. It is NOT a seafoam green color. It’s more of a light blue color. I think it looks very nice, but is not even remotely close to a seafoam color. And yes I mixed it very well before applying.

  • Good product.
Size: 32 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: Yellow
I left a review stating that the paint did not dry. The paint did dry after a week. It was my own fault. I did not let the primer dry for 24 hrs. I painted after an hour. Lesson learned.

  • Transform you boat! Transform you boat!
Size: 128 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: White
Super slick, super glossy. This paint will take your boat to the next level. Wet Edge is a one part paint and goes on thin. I put one coat of primer and two thin coats of Wet Edge. I would consider the roll (6” foam) and tip (good paint brush) method. If you’re painting over no skid, just rolling works best. In fact, i ended rolling the whole project. I painted the top deck first, center console will be next. Turned my tired old 1994 Action Craft into a slick clean machine. ... show more

  • Paint never dries, doesn't level, gummy to sand, doesn't cover well, buy other paint.
Size: 128 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: Blue-Glo White
Amazon: They don't know how to ship the paint so it doesn't get damaged. First gallon of paint arrived damaged. The Amazon computerized return system was going to make me ship it back or some nonsense like that. Without opening I contacted Amazon directly and was sent a second can. Luckily I didn't try to use it, eventually I opened it and it had skinned over 1/4" thick! Product: the product is very hard to use and takes a lot of patience. 1) must use primer. I had a newly created boat and tried to paint (only) some hard to reach areas during assembly. It took many coats, at least 4, for coverage. It also eventually yellowed so it may not be suited for semi-enclosed spaces. 2) it doesn't follow out at all if unthinned. If unthinned it skins over so quick it's hard to keep a wet edge. If you attempt to tip it, it just leaves brush marks in the paint. Unthinned, but thinly applied, it still takes well over 24 hours to "dry". If you apply it thick enough to self level a bit it never dries fully and is a soft gummy mess. 3) If you thin it enough to follow out and keep a wet edge and tip well, it takes over 36 hours to dry, maybe 48 hours. Good luck keeping dust out of something sticky for 48 hours!! When thinned enough to tip it's coverage is even worse, and took 3 coats to cover totalboat's white primer. It took forever, since you need to wait at least 2 days between coats to wet sand out all the dust! 4) I've also tried using it to apply softsand and we'll see if it ever dries. I think that the "overly thick" coat that forms (all the valleys in the nonskid) means it will never dry. It's been drying for 3 days now - still wet. Recommendation: don't use this paint. ... show more
