TOPGREENER TSOS5-W Passive Infrared In-Wall Motion Sensor Light Switch, you can enjoy great savings and convenience with lighting control. When you put the slide switch button to AUTO mode, TSOS5 PIR motion sensor will detect motion and turn on load such as a lights, fans, motors, or heaters automatically; and turn off the load when no motion is sensed for preset delay time. Variable delay time between 15 seconds, 10 minutes, 20 minutes and 30 minutes. Passive Infrared, PIR sensor detect occupancy by sensing the difference between heat emitted from the human body in motion and background space. This occupancy sensor has a maximum coverage area up to 980 sq. ft., 180-degree field of view; sensitivity level is adjustable in 4 positions from 30% to 100%. To provide adequate coverage with-in a space, motion activated sensors utilize a unique Fresnel lens which divides the coverage area into zones, thus enhancing the detection of small movement. • False Advertising, and Doesn't Sense All Motion in a Room!
Style: Neutral Wire Required, 4A Size: 2 Pack
I'm rating the motion detection itself as 3/5. As usual, the product information that was advertised is wrong - this does NOT have a full 180° detection area as clearly specified. Also, the sensor only seems to sense movement from about the same level the switch is installed at, so if you have small children or you're crouching down, then the light will turn off without notice. That's VERY frustrating to me, and I cannot emphasize that enough! Even *more* troubling is the fact that none of the Q/A's and product information seem to mention this at all! Surely someone other than me should have experienced this issues already and voiced them at this point - right? Let me expand on the problems I had with this switch below. Note that the installation was almost easy as pie with some electrical know-how and I didn't really read the instructions myself, but the wiring effort itself gets a full thumbs-up from me since it's kinda hard to complicate the installation process on a single-pole switch to begin with. I installed one in a master bathroom where the switch is in such a position that it turns on once you enter it, but it loses line of sight when you're at the sink to brush your teeth etc. Therefore I needed to adjust the delay time to about 2 and a half minutes; I am just glad there was an option to adjust a setting for that. Overall this product works as desired for this location - detects ambient light, so it doesn't turn on when there's a lot of daylight either. Works well enough for this spot - I'll give it a pass here, as I was able to make the best of a non-ideal placement spot. OK, moving on. The problem area where it was installed was actually the laundry room. In this case the switch is facing the same direction as the person who enters the room, so here it would be truly beneficial if it provided that full 180° of detection range. However, from personal testing I have found this to be more true to a 150° horizontal detection area, meaning I have to walk 1-2 steps into the room before it switches on. The other major point of concern with the switch here is that it has a very narrow range of motion detection in terms of height, so if someone is bending down or crouching in order to place or retrieve clothes from the washing machine/dryer for more than the default time of 15 seconds, the light will turn off and that person will be abruptly left in total darkness. This is NOT cool and they should have advertised somewhere on the product page that the switch does not detect any motion if a person in the room is bent down or crouching. A huge minus here for me. Admittedly, the switch does work as expected and work to conserve energy I suppose, however for the laundry room I might need to end up setting the delay time before it switches off to perhaps 1 minute or so. This is actually inconvenient for me because most of the time we are in there for a couple of seconds to grab something (we have a coat rack there as well), so a setting such as this means it has to wait a whole minute after that person has left the room before it switches off the light. All this because it simply *cannot* detect any motion below a certain height, which was not mentioned anywhere in the product page which I personally find to be a glaring omission, as this is one of those important things you might consider before buying a motion-detecting light switch. The manual ON/OFF option was a nice touch but I'm not sure if that's something I want to be leaning towards every time I would plan to do activities where the switch does not pick up any motion, such as bending or sitting down - as far as I understand, if I manually turn it "on" whenever I'm going to be in the room a while and can't rely on motion detection alone, I have to remember to reset it to "auto" every time I leave the room, right? That seems to be a kinda inconvenient feature by itself to me. Overall, the switch was easy to install and seems to work as expected (for now). However, there are two points in which this switch failed me and that is (1) I would REALLY have appreciated a heads-up that the 180° detection area is most certainly not as advertised as none of the Q/A's or reviews seemed to mention that, and (2) I would also have appreciated a note somewhere saying that it fails to detect any motion from a person lower than 5 feet etc. or someone who would be crouching or bent down below that minimum height of detection. As part of the motion sensing goes, I suppose that it does it's job well enough. However, do BEWARE of the false and negligent advertising that fails to explain some of the more crucial shortcomings of this product! Things like this should really be explained better, or put in big, bold letters somewhere so that's easier for a potential buyer to notice, especially considering how this product might not entirely be refundable. This is definitely tacky marketing and it easily knocked it down a star for that alone. Also, the manual ON/OFF option wasn't that useful to me in the end either though, it was actually more convenient to set the delay-off to a longer time like a minute or two. I haven't tried any of the other motion-detection light switch brands, but after the shoddy and misleading marketing that I found with this product I might consider that for future purchases after all. UPDATE (5/23): The dial for the TIME setting is very inconvenient and doesn't function as expected, but to be honest I wasn't overly surprised by this design flaw as this is also a sub-par product in terms of motion detection alone. The delay-off setting for the switch seems to jump immediately from 15 sec. (a little past the TEST setting) to 1 min. 30 sec. with no easy adjustment in between. I needed to fiddle around with the dial and waste close to an hour (if you can believe that) just to set the delay-off to approximately 30 seconds. It took me a lot of trial-and-error attempts just to get the TIME setting to the sweet spot where it turns the light off after the desired period of no motion detected. I knew this was a troublesome product already, so the issue I had with the dial only adds to the list of things in the product that were not designed well to begin with. Overall, a decent switch for the price point but I surely hope there are better out there - there must be, right? Regardless, my quest for home improvement and a capable motion sensor switch continues. ... show more

  • These are the best!
Style: Neutral Wire Required, 4A Size: 2 Pack
What a truly remarkable energy saver! I have installed these in every room in the house 5 bedroom/ 3 bath with walk in's. These are fully adjustable, easzy peazy! They work with all LED's bulbs & tubes. Except dimmable. BUT, the awesome is they stay on while you are in the room. No more waving arms, jumping up & down to reactivate like a lot of the others out there. I highly recommend! ... show more

  • I can't stop buying these
Style: Neutral Wire Required, 4A Size: 4 Pack
Bought my first couple several years ago, since then looked at other products but keep going back to this. Just about every non-smart-switch in my house is one of these. In a fast pace home/business it really is nice just having that one less thing to do every time you enter and exit a room, plus it's nice as guests come over and walk through the house. But aside from just talking about why I love motion sensor switches, this one specifically seems to be built well, work well, and have decent features. My only thing is I wish I could make the light level sensor more sensitive. We have a few rooms where I set it so that as the sun is beaming in the switch wont turn on, and it's almost perfect honestly, but there's one room that I wish I could make it not turn on until it's just a little bit darker. But realistically it's fine and the other rooms are perfect, only comes on after dusk unless it's really cloudy. ... show more

  • Prompt Tech Support/Easy install
Style: Neutral Wire Required, 4A Size: 2 Pack
I had purchased one from another company and couldn’t get it to work. The video and description of the product were easy to understand so I was pretty confident that I ordered the correct one. After receiving it I still had doubts so I contacted the support service by email. They responded quickly and I was reassured it would work so I installed it. It worked! I changed the settings to suit the environment and I couldn’t be happier with the results ❣️ ... show more

  • Great Motion Sensor Switch
Style: Neutral Wire Required, 4A Size: 4 Pack
These were simple to install and adjusting the programming was very simple. In certain areas, I needed less sensing area and others needed shorter time periods, and these were both easy to adjust after installing. I like the option of turning them on manually if I'm going to be away from the sensor, so a very useful option. I will be buying more and they have a great price compared to other motion sensors. ... show more

Style: Neutral Wire Required, 4A Size: 4 Pack
This is my go-to motion sensor light switch for rooms that I want instant light activation. I already have 3 of these in use and needed 2 more for under deck lighting. I bought 4 just to have 2 extra.
