  • Would buy again.
Felt compelled to write a review as it did not have many reviews and some of the other reviews had me on the fence as to whether or not to buy. My 8 year old and I loved the experience of building this robot. The instructions are easy to follow (pictures only), you just need to pay attention to detail as far as how each piece is oriented. Battery life has been good - at least 20 minutes of play between charges and it hasn't completely died on us yet - just became more sluggish. The gripper claw has been able to pick up quite a few different items. It's not industrial strength but it's fine for a kid's toy. Maybe I got a good one based on the other reviews, but this one is a 10/10 and would buy again. ... show more

  • Wire ripped out
I would give this 5 stars but ultimately we had to send it back because of an assembly problem. Here’s what happened: when we were assembling the robot, we plugged one wire into the wrong port, and when I tried to unplug it to fix the mistake, the clip at the end of the wire just would not come out. I tried tweezers, but no go. Ultimately the wires came out but the clip stayed in. I would suggest to the manufacturer that they make the wire ports and clips differently so you can plug and unplug them, since this is learning toy. Also, if u need to return this item, just know that it won’t fit in its original box unless u completely disassemble it. ... show more

  • This would be difficult for child to build
Timely shipping and delivery was great. This would be difficult for child. The instructions require care when determining positions of the various parts. Bright light and a magnifying glass will help for the instructions will definitely help. My kit is finished and it works fine as advertised. None of my comments are directed at the supplier. They were spot on. ... show more

  • Built like a tank w/ smooth operation. The battery included is weak.1 lift of the arm & it's dead.
Easy to read instructions, well made in almost every aspect. Using motors instead of servos, drains my battery in one lift of arm, or claw. It will only move a few feet, using the tracks. Seems like 2 18650 batteries are in parallel, and don't have enough amperage? 6 motors are impressive, and with the correct volts, amps would be awesome. However the batteries given, are under powered, significantly. ... show more

  • Nice
Putting the thing together is a bit hard, but this is only the second time I've put a robot together.

  • Ok for limited use. Mostly plastic parts
I thought it would be a more robust aluminum product. Most of the wear and stressed parts are plastic so I don't expect it to hold up very long. Ok as a short life toy. Remote control has a strange mapping of controls to buttons I wish I could change. Rechargeable battery is in a screw closed compartment that is a pain. Why not just put a plug on the controller case to allow charging? Motion very "shaky", I may rebuild using servos to better control motion. Balance is off so easy to tip even without a load. ... show more

  • Incorrect assembly instructions.
Incorrect instructions to connect electrical cables to the power distribution unit. Two of the cables were damaged during removal to insert the cables into the CORRECT sockets. I tried to order and pay for new wires. Zero response from customer service at Top Race.

  • Nice remote control crane
This is a nice product but not the easiest to put together. You really need to pay very close attention to the diagrams or else it may not operate perfectly and you will need to redo sections. It does operate well when completed correctly.
