- TENNESSEE SMALL BUSINESS: we're a small team specializing in high quality percussion instruments and mallets using the best materials possible; our wood shop is in Nashville, Tennessee, and your choice supports American jobs
- WHY IT MATTERS: we don't just simply "source" products from overseas factories and put our logo on it; controlling design and production in-house lets us focus on first-class construction to make professional, highly intentional, long-lasting instruments
- GENERAL USE MALLETS: these medium hardness mallets are for general purpose use from timpani to cymbal swells to drum set; great for covering multiple instruments or to have in your drumstick bag when the moment calls for mallets
- EXTRA SOFT RUBBER MALLETS: the Timber Drum Co. Extra Soft Rubber Mallets produce soft resonance with a gentle, muted attack; ideal for drawing out a pleasant tone with no sharpness when striking your instrument
- WHERE TO USE: made for steel tongue drum, vibraphone, log drum, bass metallophone, cymbal roll/swell, small gongs, marimba, or any instrument that needs a muted contact sound
- ONE BIG THING: please check our other mallets for uses where you need a sharper attack like xylophone, glockenspiel, bells, energy chime, or wood blocks; the Timber Drum Co. T2HP Hard Poly or TB3M Brass mallets are best suited for these purposes
- SOLID BIRCH HANDLES: smooth and well-balanced with rounded tips for comfort; the wood is hand-stained in our shop to bring out the natural grain for a high-end look
- SPECS: 15.0625" L (total), 1" mallet heads, 5/16" diameter handles; sold in pairs
- THE TAKEAWAY: buying these mallets supports an American company and Tennessee workers; they give you a rich, soft, sweet sound on more delicate percussion instruments with almost no strike sound; great for all ages and skill levels

Nice feel that produces a sweet sound!
Great for my drum, they were a little long for what I was using them for so I cut the handles down. But they’re nice and soft so they make a gentle but strong sound when you play with them.

Burgundy = Extra But Not Extra Extra Soft
Good. The extra soft rubber is as described. It is rubbery yet substantial. It is designed to massage a soft melody, maybe, but it can almost serve to click and clack as on a woodblock without casting splinters or creating cracks. The better bet as a “stick" is to use it on hard but responsive plastic. It's one of those mallets that you’re glad you have for the few times you might need it, if only. I definitely wouldn’t use it on a cajon, which I was kind of wanting to in my innocence. I was hoping for a sound effect, but I didn’t get that yet.

Wonderful addition to my musical collection!
Love these mallets. Beautifully balanced and crafted. Perfect for steel tongue drums. Great company, quality products. They have a variety of mallets. I have a few, but want to buy them all! Wonderful additions to my musical collection.

Good for my tongue drum
I bought these to use with an 11-note tongue drum. They are a somewhat soft rubber, which is recommended to that type of drum. The handles are on the long side-about 14" I think. That takes some getting used to, but I don't consider it a problem. They produce a clean, bright sound on my drum, which of course motivates me to practice more. I have attached a little video, so you can hear the sound. (Just please disregard my finite skill; I am a beginner.)
