This is the best compilation album of the early Rolling Stones hits. I had this LP back in the 80's and this re-issue is great. This is a must to have for TRS fans. The album arrived earlier than expected in perfect condition. Highly recommended.

If you're maybe just a casual Stones fan like myself this record is incredible! Personally I don't need the deep tracks or to know how exactly how the group progressed, they resonate with me just about as well as Tom Petty. I appreciate them but I'm not crazy about them. That said, every song on Hot Rocks 1 is really awesome, beginning to end all four sides are filled with scintillating chartbusters. Quality presentation too. I usually don't go for greatest hits albums, this along with Tom Petty and the Chili Peppers are a couple exceptions. Track list speaks for itself this is all really great rock music! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Fantastic double-album for the money! I don't see any mention in the description that these pressings are in CLEAR vinyl which normally costs more. I was pleasantly surprise when I pulled clear records out of the plastic (rather than paper) sleeves. I was a little disappointed in the lower than normal audio level (especially the first song on side one). I record my albums onto reel-to-reel tape and most albums requires that I set the knob of the volume control to around the 3 to 4 o'clock position on my tape deck's line input to obtain a peak reading of 0 VU on the VU meter on the loudest passages of music. This album's audio output is so low by comparison that with the volume control turned all the way up the VU meter peaked around -3 to -2 VU. To the average person not recording to tape this probably doesn't matter but it does reduce the signal to noise ratio meaning that because the audio on the record is already below what it should be any surface noise will be more noticeable than if it were recorded at a higher modulation level. I was going to give this a four star for that reason but unless you are an audiophile you won't really notice. ... show more

When I purchased this album I didn’t realize that it was a transparent color album. That just made the buy even better. I love the stones and this album has some of their best hits. A great buy!
