I am 100% happy with my purchase.. I read the reviews below, and in my opinion, the people who posted negative want way more for their money than is reasonable.. These are weights for $23.. For $100 I can see some complaints, but not for $23... I have PRIME (best thing I have done in years) and so I had free shipping. The emails detailed I would get the package in 4 working days.. I was pleased that it only took 2 days, but again, $23 for a 20 pound package, so what is there to complain about? The package was fine.. well packed.. The weights are just fine, and the gripping area is good for small or large hands.. AGAIN, $23..... The rack is heavy plastic.. The manufacturer must have read the reviews that it could use some larger screws for putting it together, because the screws fit very tightly, so I suggest you use the proper size screw driver so as not to strip the threads. They fit tight and make for a sturdy rack.. again, $23.... So bottom line, for $23 you get substantial weights and a rack... If you can find room to complain about that, don't buy this and spend more of your money for something else.. Great quality weights - - especially considering the price and the fact that it comes with a stand too. The weights are nicely and evenly coated. The colors are a bit girly, and I'm a girl so that's okay with me. These 2-3-5 pounders are not exactly man sized, so I guess you could say the colors are appropriae. The hourglass shape is very comfortable and secure in hand. The stand has a small footprint and tucks away easily in the corner. Granted, the stand is flimsy, lightweight and plastic, but remember . . . it's a stand, not a carrying case. Once it's put together and the weights are on it, the stand is not meant to be picked up and moved around. The screws are short, and the pre-drilled screw holes are not the most precise, so a little elbow grease is needed in order to set the screws securely. That being said, I am completely happy with my purchase and would recommend this for anyone looking for a small, lightweight dumbbell set. ... show more

This is a nice little set. I bought this for my wife who is working on getting more fit. It has a nice range for adding oomph to your aerobic excersizes. As you can see it comes with 2 each of the 2 pound, 3 pound, and 5 pound weights. The little rack is not the sturdiest but holds the weights well. They have a nice heavy rubber coating to protect the weights from drops and improve grip. It does provide a nice grip too. So, if you are using these on the treadmill or some toning excersizes these won't get away from you. Plus cost is not suppose to be factors but a 5 pound weight at target might be eight bucks by itself, so this is a really good deal. ... show more

    • Good weight set for the money but I had to air them out before using them.
My only complaint against this dumbbell set was the smell of the weights when I opened the box. I took the weights out of their plastic bags, washed them, and put them on the included rack in the garage to let them air out before the rubber smell went away. If you have a latex allergy this set may be an issue for you or you might have to wear gloves while using them. The smell eventually did go away and I've been using the weights ever since. They seem to be a good product but like others have said, the stand that comes with the weights isn't very sturdy. You will have to handle the rack gently if you want it to last. In my case I didn't really buy the weights for the rack, I wanted a reasonably priced weight set that didn't gouge me on shipping charges and that's what I got. I'd buy this set again if I needed to replace them. I take care of the things I buy so I believe these weights and the flimsy rack will serve me well. I can't say fro sure but I'd have to say these weights may not hold up well if they're dropped on a hard floor or concrete surface. I won't be testing that out so others will have to give us a review if it happens to them. These are comfortable to use, the coating is thick with some give to it (like a slight squishy feeling which is great if they get dropped because there is a little bounce) and has not peeled at all even after many years.

The weights themselves are good, easy to grip and small enough to store easily. The storage rack is ridiculous. It is made out of plastic and is meant to be put together with plastic pegs, held in place by a tiny screw on each side of the rack. Since the pegs are made of hard plastic and the holes are just holes, not ribbed for screws, it is impossible to get the tiny screws to go into the holes at a 90-degree angle. In effect, it is impossible to screw the screws in all the way, because once they are crooked they can no longer be screwed in. If I had pursued this route and screwed in all of the pegs, the stand would have been super wobbly with crooked screws sticking out of both sides. Needless to say, I trashed the cheap weight stand and am just storing the weights stacked criss-cross on the floor (which is much more stable). Also, the weights came packed in plastic, but on three of the weights the plastic bag was part way off and the weights were completely stuck to the Styrofoam. When I got the weights out of the Styrofoam packaging, there was a packed layer of white residue stuck to the end of the weights, which doesn't seem to be coming off, no matter how much scraping or rubbing I try. The weights themselves, like I said, are very functional and will serve their purpose. I was disappointed by the packaging and the storage rack, though. Oh well. Time to get lifting and toning! ... show more
