  • Accurate fit and reliable performance for an older Carrier furnace
Style: [V01] 10uF Oval
This capacitor matched the specifications exactly and worked perfectly as a replacement for our 33-year-old Carrier furnace. Installation was straightforward — the terminals fit tightly, and the size matched the original component, so it mounted easily without modification. The build quality feels solid, with a sturdy aluminum casing and clean, well-fitted connectors. After installation, the furnace fan started running smoothly again, and the capacitor tested precisely on spec with a multimeter. It runs cool and stable even during extended operation. For older HVAC systems, this is an excellent replacement part — dependable, accurate, and well made. It restored full functionality immediately at a very reasonable price. ... show more

  • Easy fix that most home owners could do
Style: [V03] 50+5 uF Round
Watched a YouTube video of the most common Central Air not working fixes. I went out and checked mine as it has not worked a couple of years. Sure enough, the main fan was working, but touching the compressor tube, you could feel it pulling every second or so, but not starting. Removing the old part and measuring it, the fan side was good and the compressor side was bad. Watch some YouTube videos if you dont know how to do that. It's not difficult. Anyways, after kicking myself in the butt for 5 minutes straight, I ordered a replacement here on Amazon. Product arrived fine and appears to be a well built part. Steps to replace it: 1)To start, most units have an outdoor circuit breaker you can pull to de-energize the unit. Pull that and/or flip the switch for the CA unit in your main fuse box. Next, remove the side access port on the outside unit, usually just two screws to get access to where the starter cap and relays are. 2)Checked the old cap to make sure it was de-energized (Very important step!!!). Do not touch those wires if it's still energized! If the unit is truely powered down and you still measure voltage on the old cap, you may need to discharge the old cap. Remember though, there are TWO caps in one and you need to discharge BOTH. If either still has a charge, they could give you a serious bite. Not to scare you away from doing it, you just have to be safe. 3)Marked the color of the wires and where they plugged into on the old cap. Note:Take a couple of pictures of the old cap and what wire goes where on it. This can be good to reference later! 4)Unplugged all the wires from the old cap and loosened the strap holding it in, and removed it. 5)Fit the new cap in under the strap, tighten it down but not so tight that it could dent the new cap, and plugged the wires into the new cap in the same positions as the old cap. Note: In most cases, the compressor will plug into the terminal stamped HERM. The fan goes to Fan if stamped. There are often two wires that were on the same terminal on the old cap, and that is the common. Plug all the wires in and DOUBLE CHECK you did it right. Take a picture of the old one at the start if you're not sure. 6)Put the side access cover back on the unit. 7)Reinstall the circuit breaker. Set the thermostat to turn it on and hopefully you have nice cool air blowing in a few minutes! 8)Especially if this fixes it, a very important step is to order a second cap!!! Then you dont have to wait long if it goes out. These get stressed every time the fan or compressor turns on. They do go bad eventually, so just have a backup ready. You will hopefully get a good 3-5 years out of the cap. In the attached picture, the temp was 78, now 71. Spouse and kids are happy. Therefore. I am happy. ... show more

  • Pretty good.
Style: [V03] 50+5 uF Round
Works good and lasts. My AC fan went out and this was the problem. Got me through the summer, time will tell how long it lasts. Overall, not a bad choice for the price.

  • It works, looks clean and is built strong. Back to clean AC in 10-15 minutes.
Style: [V05] 45+10 uF Round
Arrived as advertised, install took 15 minutes with slight learning curve for this model heat pump and it fired right up as it did two days prior! Thank you for making a quality product and it hope the long term review will reflect a decent life span! We have many 'brownouts' and had another AC unit for out next door 36 hours prior to this one. Dirty grid power or regular outages of 5+ seconds are very hard on capacitors in air conditioners! I was curious so I looked into it and ~83% of all HVAC related service calls are capacitor related... I bought two for each unit so we have one sitting in the storage room to use as a quick fix next time one goes out. It is not about the quality of the capacitor as it is the amount of abuse the component takes. Signed of poor construction are barely starting the motor from day one to swelling of the can which indicates it was barely staying sealed when the insides want to blow up. The welds are great, can is clean, connectors are strong and sized properly. It provides the needed burst of energy to get the compressor running and I hope it continues for a long time to come. Best wishes and I hope this helps. ... show more

  • Working AC Huzzah!
Style: [V05] 45+10 uF Round
This thing saved my ac fan motor, and instantly brought the temperature back down to livable. It showed up quickly, installed smoothly, even though it was smaller than the previous capacitor it replaced with the same number range. No problem a little weather stripping and a bigger mounting washer couldn't fix. All of the wires clipped into place as they should, and I was pleasantly surprised at how clearly labeled each terminal was. Better than the OEM. ... show more

  • Works well for the secondary spa pump motor starter
Style: [V02] 40uF Round
Our hot tub has 2 pumps. The primary pump uses a 50uF starter capacitor and the secondary pump uses this 40uF starter capacitor. This one is about a half inch shorter than the OEM one and easily fits inside the capacitor housing on the top of the pump.
