This TOAUTO TRF3000 furnace kit is just the right size for home use and included two crucibles with tongs, gloves and a small mold. The heat shield around the hot areas is very well-made and safe to use at high temps and a good value for the money. The lid is easy to open, and the tongs grab the crucibles easily and securely for a safe pour into sand casting molds, etc. The whole unit seems durable, and the temperature control is accurate, and the crucible heats up pretty fast and holds the set temp during melting. Always coat the inside of the crucible with melted Borax to help seal the Graphite from corrosive melted ingredients that could eat into it and potentially leak into the unit- over time and after many multi- melts. Great melting unit and I picked up several more crucibles to keep well supplied for clean melts when testing concentrates and mineral samples. Excellent furnace kit that does have replaceable parts if something goes wrong during melting at high temps. Excellent find!

Extremely well made and rock solid, however, there is one glaring issue with this furnace. The included thermocoupler seems to only be rated to 1100°C since mine burnt out after 2 sessions running at 1150°C (Max temperature). I was getting an error on the screen showing "hhhh" and it would not heat at all. I ended up purchasing a new thermocoupler and replaced it and it has been running well ever since, but I wouldn't say that is acceptable. For a $300 furnace (relatively expensive option), I wouldn't expect to have an issue with any components in the short term. I'm torn because I would have returned it if there was a convenient return option like a Whole Foods drop off. Since the only return option was UPS, I wasn't willing to wait weeks in limbo waiting for this to get returned. Now that I'm basically stuck with it, it does work well with this after market thermocoupler and it is insanely easy to use. It's very convenient having the 1kg and 3kg size crucibles. There was, however, a weird warning slip staying something about replacing the crucibles after 8 hours of use. That seemed extremely short, so to avoid any potential that the slip is correct, I have been removing the crucible when cooling the furnace down naturally and placing it on a graphite plate. All in all, it's a solid quality furnace that is a little more than I wanted to spend, especially with a faulty thermocoupler, but in perfect shape, it's a great furnace. EDIT (from ***°° to *****): This original review sparked the TOAUTO Team to reach out to me directly and offer replacements and spares for the faulty components. The level of support I am receiving is well beyond what I expect from Amazon sellers. I genuinely appreciate the seller going out of their way to make it right and getting my device in perfect condition.

Got this as a gift for my husband. He likes it for the most part but gets really upset when trying to melt copper. He's broken copper pieces down to small pieces and still has trouble with them melting. Seems to think it just doesnt get hot enough. He's been using it since December and not even a handful of times so far and its already stopped working on him twice. He's had to unplug it, let it cool down, and then start it back up to finish using. And unfortunately we are out of the return window. Highly disappointed. *UPDATE* I received an email offering to refund or send a new unit out the day I wrote the review. I responded and have yet to see anything at all. This type of horrible customer service tells you to shop from them very carefully!

So far this is a great furnace, though it didn't start out that way but customer service was FANTASTIC! I was melting 32gms of scrap copper and it too SOOOO long, over an hour. I contacted customer service and the representative sent me a video of how to reprogram the PID so that the furnace would heat up 50 degrees Celsius higher than max, and boom, it melted 65 gms of copper in 15 minutes.

Worked very well, about once a week, for two months. Stopped working and is now tripping my circuits (yes, the same ones that I was using the previous two months). I definitely don't feel like I got my money's worth out of this short-lived device. After the initial review, the seller contacted me and gave a full refund. Great customer support!

This furnace is easy to operate, with simple temperature controls, easy to follow instructions, and it works off house current through a regular outlet. It heats up to 1150 degrees Celsius so it has the ability to melt a wide variety of metals. It comes with two different sized crucibles so you have the right tool for the job you are doing. I love that it came with heat resistant gloves that will work for most adult sized hands. I really like that the parts that wear out (like the breaker and the resistance wire) are easy to find replacements for, so this unit should be able to be kept running easily for many uses. I am very new to this, but I am very happy with this furnace for what I want to do with it.

So far, I absolutely love this furnace! A few tips from my experience: definitely preheat your molds before pouring—it makes a big difference. On the first day, I started with aluminum since it’s a bit easier to work with in my opinion. I initially set the furnace to 660°C, but the metal wasn’t as fluid as I expected and didn’t pour smoothly. Once I increased the temperature to 1000°C, it melted perfectly and was much easier to work with. On the second day, I tried copper. Unfortunately, I didn’t preheat the mold long enough, and during the pour, the copper splattered—droplets jumped out and left small burn marks in my concrete driveway. That was definitely a user error on my part! Safety note: Always wear goggles and use the heat-resistant gloves that come with the furnace—they’re essential. I also recommend placing your molds on a steel plate during pouring, especially if you’re working on concrete, because the intense heat can damage your floor.
