When I ordered this toaster I thought it would come and id be disappointed in my choice. Thought it was a bit pricey and I wouldn't like it! I am so wrong. It's great it's very stable and well made so far.... Holds it's temperature and is consistent at toasting as it should. The led read out of time remaining is a nice feature too. Advertised as stainless steel. Feels more like aluminum with a "stainless steel sheet" over it. Very lightweight. Not that this is bad. It's lightweight, compact and looks good on the counter. It's very easy to clean. I like the wide slots for my bagel. I only knocked off one star because of the price. I've seen similar toasters for cheaper. This one does look good though. I also had the funky smell but think it's just the metal heating and not plastic. gets fainter over time and use but it's still there. doesn't affect taste of the items in the toaster. ... show more

For so long, have dealt with crunchy (or burnt) outsides of English muffins and bagels using a traditional toaster. Otherwise, had to heat up the oven and broil on the one side. I also make quick grilled cheese sandwiches with toast and melting the cheese in the microwave; inside of the grilled cheese will now be soft. With the KOTIAN retro toaster, the extra wide slots and ‘bagel’ setting mean quick results now. Moving from the 1 inch to 1.5 inch wide slots will also accommodate Texas Toast. I often keep my bread in the fridge so will last longer; warming setting let’s me take the chill off the bread for lunchtime sandwiches. Defrost works well for toaster strudels, pancakes, and waffles. VERY versatile new appliance in my kitchen! Cleaning is easier with the pull out crumb tray. Occasionally have to turn over the trash can and shake to remove any crumbs caught in the heating elements. Black matte finish wipes clean with damp cloth or mild cleaning solution.     • Great features and classy look
I like this toaster! It has a classy look that looks great on the counter and it has some nice features that you don't see on other toasters. It has nice wide slots for bagels and other wide slice of bread. The large led countdown timer display is great for knowing when it's going to be done so I can be ready to grab the toast while it's hot. There's a special bagel button which only heats the inside elements so it toasts on the cut sides of the bagel only. There is also a defrost button which simply adds a little bit of extra time to account for the bread being frozen. It does not just defrost and stop. The Reheat setting is really just a low time setting to warm up the bread without toasting it any more, but it's nice to have it labeled as such as a reminder to use it. The crumb tray slides right out for quick and easy cleaning. Make sure to run the toaster on the highest setting a couple of times with nothing in it before using it because it stinks a bit of burning plastic at first, but it burns off so is fine after that. ... show more

Thank you KOTIAN: This is my favorite toaster ever! I bake homemade breads and I love them toasted with butter, so there is always have a toaster on the countertop. I replaced my old toaster with this one and I love it! It looks great on the countertop, it works great, it easy to clean and fun to use. I love the digital countdown. It is so convenient to know when your toast is going to pop up. They call it retro, but I think it gives the kitchen a more modernized look. Love the pull-out crumb tray. I had to turn my old toaster upside down and shake it, now that is archaic, and it always made a mess. This one is easy to keep clean and tidy, and really who doesn't love easy. I love all the selections for heating, and the option to cancel with the touch of a button. Thick breads, skinny breads, toaster pastries, bagels, English muffins, this toaster does it all and does it well. Great Product! ... show more

Had 2 months already works erratically. The lever to push toast down won’t stay. Not the most even toast when it does work.
