It has a professional look to it once it's installed. I must say they gave you everything you needed to install this, including lag bolts to install on wooden steps and concrete anchor bolts for concrete installation. Putting it together was pretty quick and easy, but is typical with Chinese products the instructions were sparse. The one key notation should have been the size of the anchor bolts, because I installed in concrete. Afterwards I found out they are in millimeters, but when I was guessing which size masonry bit to drill the holes, I guessed 1/2" which was a little too large. I'm guessing now the bolts were probably 12 mm. However, after some frustration and thinking, I was able to use the bolts in a 1/2 " hole by dropping the bolt in the hole (with a washer and nut attached), then grab the threaded end with pliers and begin turning the nut until the bolt began to flare its bottom. Then once it grabs, continue to tighten the bolt, and it will become very solid. I repeated this with all the 8 bolts and I ended up with a very solid and safe installation.

The angle from the slope to the top short section is about 34 degrees from horizontal. If you want the top section to be horizontal, you have a rise of about 12.5 inches from the bottom post to the top. If you switch the posts, (put the top post at the bottom), you can get a 15 inch rise. Since I had a 17 inch rise on my porch, I used this reversed post approach and also added a curb that was 2 inches higher than the bottom sidewalk to anchor the bottom post on. This gave me a level top section. There are 25 inches horizontally between the two posts (center to center). The hardest part by far was drilling the holes in the concrete for the anchors. The anchors in my kit required a 1/2-inch hole. If you are drilling in concrete, borrow or rent yourself an SDS-type hammer drill and bit unless you already own one. Apply water frequently to try keep the bit cool. Indent the hole centers to keep the bit from wandering. The Kit arrived complete and well packaged. It was inexpensive compared to a custom rail, which was about 6x the installed cost of this unit. It ended up very sturdy and surpassed my expectations. Instructions were pictographs. Only the handrail is wrought iron; the rest is tubular steel.

Handrail is strong and sturdy. Went together easily, with the exception of some of the flanges being out of alignment enough that I had to carefully bend them in without breaking the weld. Install was easy with the exception of needing a socket wrench to mount to my wood porch. The only real issue I had was the packaging. Wow, I had little nuts and washers all over the box. It was as if they grabbed the items and just flung them in loosely. So, be careful opening the package. Also, had to use a magnifying glass to read the instructions. Very poor instructions. That being said, I'm happy with my Handrail.

Seems like a good sturdy item, but like many others have said, it will come damaged. They don't really put any effort into packaging and with all the reviews about damaged parts, you'd think they would start. Anyway, it's amazon and they love returns. I really needed this up, and I drove to hours to in-laws to install. I used what I got and bent parts back into place as best I could. I would not order this item again.

Looks great and is very stable. I like that fasteners were provided for either wood or concrete. This was relatively easy to install for a novice like me.

The anchors included are metric. Hard to find metric drill bits for concrete at big box stores. Ended up using red heads. Directions could be better.... take your time. Once installed it is very sturdy.
