My very hands on 5 year old loves these. He loves to look at the displayed designs and try and replicate them himself or make his own. He can sit and play with this for a long time. Love the bright color and he very rarely has a hard time putting one together or taking one apart. They’re plastic but still seem durable. Would make a great gift! ... show more

PLASTIC pieces, not wooden. About 1/3 of the pieces are very small. The tin is too large for the number and size of pieces. I’m disappointed because wooden was mentioned in the description ……. “Nostalgic Wooden Construction Toy” My grandson and I have enjoyed making most of the models that are advertised.     • Tinkertoy pieces were fine. can and lid were badly dented not very useful now.
It came in a carboard box. The container can was open because it was poorly taped. the lid and the can were badly dented. So, it was not suitable for a present. I would add, the box it came in was fine. So clearly the can was damaged when it was put in box. I had considered when started to buy more for more projects. But not anymore. ... show more

Despite the "vintage" container, and "classic" in the description, these are NOT the tinker toys of old. They are a plastic, rather than wood. That aside, they are pretty cool. They work the same and aren't cheaply made. I'd expect them to last a long time given the amount of play time they have seen already. They have taken a beating from my 3 year old and are in great shape. Don't be fooled by the size of the tin. It's only about half full. Take that for what it is. Extra storage for more toys or a let down when you get them and realize your selection of pieces is limited. ... show more
