It features a large, round silver-tone brass watch case with a flattened, brushed bezel that frames an olive green dial background with Arabic numerals, inset 24-hour notations, large, luminous stick hands (with seconds hand), and a date display at 3 o'clock. With the Quick Date function, you can set the date on the watch without turning the crown for every 24-hour period. Just pull the stem halfway out, and turn until desired date is reached. It also offers an 8-year battery life, water resistance to 165 feet (50 meters), and a durable genuine leather strap. The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer."

This watch runs on the smaller side, but has a really nice aesthetic. It’s like you’re ready to go out on a polar expedition. I find that the leather watch band is high-quality. I really like the indigo backlight feature. Though I say it has a rugged look, I have no idea if it actually is sturdy or rugged. It could be a fragile piece of junk, and I wouldn’t know that because I’m not engaging in any adventurous activities. It says it’s water resistant for 50 m which is basically like a heavy rain storm so I could see that being a problem in an adventurous rugged type setting like if it rains ... show more

For those of us who don't need Rolex, or even Bulova, written across the face of our watch, this Timex is a great (and affordable) choice -especially if your work or hobbies result in physical perils for your watch. I bought this Timex to replace my former Timex- pretty much the same model. After nearly 20 years of hard use, the old one's christal was scratched to the point of being hard to read. I'd worn out about eight watch bands but the watch never gave me a problem. The new watch, when it arrived, was easier to read, its night light, superb. I expect the same long life from it as from previous Timexes. and its nice to have a new one. The watch is attractive with an excellent leather band, and I think it is easier to set than my previous one. Timex watches have ALWAYS been my goto for watches! Never had a digital watch and never will! Expedition watches ate rugged and utilitarian, which fits my lifestyle. I go tough on my watches, and Timex always cones through. Yes, the leather watchband broke after 2 months of wearing, but like I said, I treat watches harshly. Never had a complaint with pass-through nylon fabric watchbands. They hardly fail ever, so thats what I replaced that Chinese leather band for a cheap but good Chinese nylon fabric pass-through band. Ten different colored bands for $15 tou can't beat that! ... show more

This watch is much more impressive in person. The leather of the bracelet looks sturdy and authentic. The 39mm case would not look good on someone with wide wrists or huge arms, but it fits perfectly on me (Average wrist size). The most impressive thing about the Brown/Olive version is the contrast between the colors on the dial; it is almost a perfect match, it makes reading time effortless, and you will love it. Pushing on the crown activates some bright backlight. In addition to the latter, the watch has incredible luminescence etched on the hands. Adjusting the time feels very satisfying as the hands move smoothly. The only downside of this watch is that the bezel does not look very polished, and it shows when you take a closer look or in some photos. Also, the watch box was of low quality. I would not mind paying more to have a version with fixes related to the aforesaid downsides. ... show more

After wearing and using this Timex watch, I am mostly happy and satisfied with my purchase. Allow me to explain; it does everything advertised and more. The watch is elegant, and keeps time. Easy to use. My dislikes: the case is very small, almost as it were made for a child. The leather band is hard and not very pliable. I have medium to small hands, but the watch does not buckle on the center of my wrist so it is always sitting to the side; again as it were designed for a child and not an adult. Again, nothing wrong with the watch, it's just a design flaw if the intended use is an adult. In my excitement I threw the packaging away before wearing it, otherwise I would return it. I have bought Timex watches since I was very young. If you are my age you remember the TV ADS, it takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Real leather band, looks great. The weight is perfect. Not too heavy. Not sure why people buy watches that are expensive.

Looking for a replacement for a fairly thin midsize Swiss Army watch that served long and well, I came across this one. It's handsome, easy to read (well, not the tiny date window - a very minor issue for me) and so far it's been spectacularly accurate. Highly recommend despite the fact the band it comes with is of mediocre quality and very uncomfortable (noted by other reviewers). I actually ordered one of those overpriced but handsome and durable Barton replacement bands at the same time I ordered the watch, so for $62 plus tax I wound up with (no pun intended) a first-rate "everyday" watch. ... show more
