  • Good basic watch
Color: Black FastWrap
This is a good, basic, accurate watch. Yes, it has a plastic body; the bezel does not rotate; and the lume, such as it is, is not very good. However, it is lightweight, classy looking, keeps excellent time, and-so far- has been water resistant and very comfortable to wear. On my watch, the Velcro strap was difficult to get on and off and I changed it out to a 22 mm NATO strap. That it is solar powered, nice looking, easy to read, and reliable makes it an excellent value. ... show more

  • Stout, Simple, Tough
Color: Black/Orange
It’s not the flashiest working man’s watch, but it’s a solid choice. It’s comfortable, tells time accurately, takes abuse and still works and looks good, and the solar-powered feature is kinda cool. The case is a composite material and resists damage to both the finish and crystal. To add, the crystal is inset enough into the bezel that edge chipping and scratches aren’t much of a concern. It’s a tad thick overall, but that doesn’t bother me. It can catch on stuff when reaching into tight spaces. Once in a while the crown will kick out stopping timekeeping, but that is rare. The OEM single piece strap isn’t the greatest but it’s sturdy and comfortable, though the metal loops and buckle will get paint dings exposing the metal underneath. More importantly, it cleans up and dries quickly. I get messy throughout the day, so that is a plus. It’s very lightweight, which for me took some getting used to, but I have no serious complaints. If you need a rugged watch, check this one out. I hope it lasts for years. ... show more

  • My third Solar Timex
Color: Black FastWrap
This is the third Solar Timex I buy in two months. The prior two (Solar Scout) had leather bands (black and brown), and they cost me under 60 bucks. This one, with the Velcro band, I got it under 40 bucks. In all three cases: big bang for the buck, considering I won't have to worry again for battery replacement, for my remaining conscious years. I have had Swiss watches running out of power in less than two years, not once but twice. On the other side, more than five years ago, when my first Swiss watch let me down, I bought an American Dakota watch: pretty solid piece, great leather band, that only has needed one battery change in +five years. I doubt that many people would read this review, and even less would know about Dakota Watches. They feature Japanese movement, and all other watch elements are made in the US. They sell in malls (what's left of them) everywhere, and have a business alliance with Citizen. ... show more

  • Bezel doesn't turn. Keeps great time. Very lightweight and comfortable
Color: Green/Black
Con - Bezel doesn't turn. Acrylic lens. Pro's - Good looking, Keeps great time. Solar - no batteries. 1 day in the sun and it is charged for about 9 months. Very lightweight and comfortable. Sturdy and a good daily wearer. It's a workhorse watch suited for active 'working' men like me. Takes a licking, keeps on ticking. Most accurate watch I have - keeps exact time. My Timex expedition Solar gains about a second a week, and my Casio Solar loses about 2 seconds a week, but this thing is spot-on when I check it against the Atomic Clock time. ... show more

  • Incredible Fit and Easy to Read
Color: Black FastWrap
I pulled this out of the box and removed the little plastic thingymajig to get it going, and voila, it ticked away. I have a small 6.5 " wrist circumference, and the velcro band made it easy to put on and secure. It's so light, I forget I'm wearing it. I got this because it's solar and I can put it in a sunny place if I'm not wearing it but I like the idea that I don't have to insert batteries. I have two watches out of commission because I haven't figured out how to do that with them. Being retired, I forget the number date. I usually remember the name of the day of the week, month and year, but the number sometimes escapes me. Truth is, I'm sincerely dyslexic and dyscalculyic and the number date always gave me grief. This watch will keep me straight. If I have to go to the hospital, all I'll have to do is look at my watch when they ask me the date and I'll pass the dementia test as long as I can remember Joe Biden is our President and Thief. Now, I just have to remember what year it is. I like having a second hand to take my pulse for 6 seconds and put a 0 on it to figure my resting pulse rate for a minute. I forget to take my watch off when I take a bath, so this being water resistant should take care of that. If it stops and fogs up, I'll update this review. The price was really good for not having to buy batteries. Lastly, I can read it without my glasses. It's a keeper. ... show more

  • Amazon sent a used one that doesn't work
Color: Green/Black
It would have been nice if #1 it was NEW (it was clearly previously opened) and #2 it worked. The battery or solar charging didn't work. Seriously Amazon!? I am being convinced to look elsewhere to buy things.

  • Look good, feels super cheap and band is terrible.
Color: Black/Orange
When I was a kid, it was always exciting to go to the big store and see the timex watches, pick them up, inspect features. I remember the timex expedition in particular, great weight, good strap, handsome watch. Finally got one for christmas and that watch lasted a really long time--under rough kid usage. since then, I've started an amateur watch collection (this piece is not really part of it) and I need a watch to wear everyday for work. I work in the service industry and right away out of the box, I don't think this thing is gonna hold up. I'd sooner trust the timex expedition from 30 years ago. This thing is light as a feather, seems mostly plastic, and the 'metal' components on the band broke after two casual wears (not to work). It does feel like a cheap piece of crap, despite the large face and case. Nonetheless, it does look pretty good, it does tell the time, is solar powered, has a couple complications that are convenient (third hand, single day date). I will keep it and wear it casually and replace the band with a new band or one of my better bands that I've had for many years (and neither has shown any signs of bending or breaking). Bottom line, this is not the heavy duty tough use watch that it looks like online, and if you buy it, wait for it to be heavily discounted, and buy an additional band at the same time. Note, it the back case plate says stainless steel--that is only that plate. I can assure you, the rest of the case, including the crown, lugs, and the crystal, is straight up plastic. I think I paid around $50 for this watch. Feel I like I overpaid, quite a bit. At least it is solar powered though. The blue strap is a separate purchase. ... show more
