  • Favorite All Around Hiking Boots
Size: 8 Color: Medium Grey
This is my second pair of Timberland boots. My other ones are the White Ledge style. Like those, this pair is comfortable out of the box. Roomy enough in the toe but not so loose that my feet slip around while I'm on a mountain trail. Because they're waterproof, they also work well around the barn. Attractive enough to wear with leggings and jeans without looking clunky. Fit true to size. As a suggestion, learn your European shoe size and go by that when choosing boots. ... show more

  • Second pair, great hiking boot!
Size: 9 Color: Medium Brown Full Grain
I bought my first pair at REI after getting a fitting. I tried on more expensive brands but these fit my slightly narrow feet best, and while leather, they are lightweight so as not to weigh you down. They were comfortable right away but I did find they needed a little breaking in before a 12-15 mile hike. I learned this the hard way and got a blister on my toe. But none after! The boots have been on 4 Grand Canyon multi day backpacking trips, walked in many creeks, and climbed up many rocky rocky terrain. They did really well on ice while hiking last April in the Grand Canyon. I have wore mine at least a couple hundred miles and after a year and half had to retire them. They are super sturdy but I just wore them out. Just got a new pair, they look so nice, time to start getting them ready for serious hiking. If you have a wide foot, not for you. If you need a cushiony feel, not for you. They are very comfortable, and even after 5 days of wearing them while backpacking, my feet never hurt. I also wasn’t quickly slipping in to sliders and out of them as other hikers were at the campgrounds. I wear a size 9 in hiking boots because of steep terrain and the same for these. ... show more

  • Comfortable, lightweight and attractive
Size: 8.5 Color: Medium Grey Full Grain
I was delighted with this purchase, given the comfortable yet sturdy feel of these boots. They feel lighter than I expected. The leather tones and finish are attractive. I purchased my normal size; the width feels snug at the ball of my foot, but I wouldn't go with any other size. I guess my only caution would be that if you have wide feet, consider sizing up or ordering a wide. ... show more

  • Hiking Boots WITHOUT a non-slip sole!??
Size: 11 Color: Black Full Grain
For the love of God....why would anyone make a pair of hiking boots that do not have slip resistant soles? Seems ridiculous to me!! I have never personally owned a pair of hiking boots before. But I would have thought that feature would be AUTOMATIC! If you are climbing over rocks and hills and the like, I would imagine that it could get pretty slippery. Upon further reading it seems to be a toss up as to whether hiking boots are non-slip or not. This is my first pair and I do not hike. I bought them for work. I work in a refrigerator/freezer all day with food. It often gets slippery on the cement floor (which also tends to be very wet from the "iced foods" that come in daily.) There is absolutely no slip resistance whatsoever on these boots. As a matter of fact...it doesn't take much at all to be "skating". There are metal drains in the floors that do stay wet from condensation. I can't tell you how many times I have almost "kissed cement" when I have stepped on those drains. Or if I have stepped on a piece of fruit. So I ALWAYS have to be very conscious of where I step or what I step on. I don't have time to walk like I am on egg shells all day so I am not thrilled. Other than that I guess they are pretty comfortable. They could definitely use more cushion! I bought a pair of those gel insoles, unfortunately once they are in there is not a whole lot of room for your foot. Even when I loosen the laces it still feels like my foot is being squeezed in there. So out they came. I needed boots in a hurry as my last pair had seen their day. I thought Timberland was a good boot. I had a pair of Timberland work boots many years ago that were like walking on clouds. I've tried several pairs since then and they are so uncomfortable. I bought a pair when I bought these and returned them because it was like having boards strapped to my feet. No cushion whatsoever! So I would have to say that I will not be in any hurry to buy Timberland anything anymore...because they have "CHEAPED OUT." They are no where near worth what they charge. ***UPDATE*** I received these boots in June. It is now December and I already NEED new boots. The rubber is all pulling away from the boot. They look like hell. And while I am aware that my job can get messy...these boots look like they are 10 years old after only 6 months. Save your money. I have read several reviews about Timberland on Amazon. Many have said that the received FAKE Timberlands. For all I know I did too. I have had $25 boots hold up better than these!! GARBAGE! ... show more

  • Absolutely the BEST
Size: 11 Color: Medium Grey Full Grain
This is by far the most comfortable, versatile boot I’ve ever worn. Due to automobile wreck, I must wear a sizable insert in one shoe. This boot easily fits the insert. Started wearing the boots all day from day one with no blisters. I’ve had them for 6 weeks now and I basically live in them on our farm. Had to walk through standing water/mud after getting my tractor hung up. With the water up to my ankle, my foot did not get wet! I very rarely write reviews, but this product deserves to be praised highly! I would absolutely recommend this boot for hiking, working, comfort, and style. It is very cute with a pair of jeans on a night out. Only caution is that it runs small so I had to order a full size up from my normal size. ... show more

  • Love these boots!
Size: 9 Color: Medium Grey Full Grain
I almost got the Timberland Norwood boots.. because they were cheaper. Then these had a "Used-like new" pair of these pop up and I am so happy I got them! They were basically new, no damage, and it looked like someone may have tried on one shoe, lol! The Norwood's are a bit more narrow and that little bit of extra space helps a lot with comfort. And these boots are generally more comfortable, not counting the width. These fit true to size so no need to size up. I'm not big on brown leather or straight black so this almost brownish grey color is perfect for me and it does look better in person. If you're deciding between the Mt Maddsen and the Norwoods..go with the Mt. Maddsen. ... show more
