It is soft. I don't know if this will stretch with time, but presently it slides up exposing the lower part of my ears. I pull it down, and it slides up repeatedly. I would suggest paying a little more for a hat that fits better.

After a few wears and about two washes, it starts to bead up looking like a beat up beanie that's been used for over a year.
