I bought this to wear in the winter time when taking my dog for walks outside. I had high hopes and let me tell you - it exceeded every single expectation of mine and then some. This balaclava is hands down the best one I've ever owned. This thing is so warm that I almost have to put it on once I get outside the house - which I'm not complaining. I mean there are days that are in the teens with windchills in single digits and I walk in the house and take it off and notice that I am starting to sweat a little bit - that's how warm this is. The wind protection is no joke - I don't even remotely feel any of the wind hitting my skin on my head on cold windy days. I live out in the country and sometimes I'm walking between two open fields down the road where the wind is just whipping and I don't feel Even the slightest bit of wind getting through that mask.     • Not just great for skiing in very cold weather.
This is a fairly heavy material, so I only use this when it's really cold out. I skied last winter when it was down to -6 deg F (without wind chill) and it kept my face comfortable. My goggles never fogged up while using it, unless I was sitting still for a long time. My grandson borrowed it for an air soft event, and said it gave him great protection. ... show more

Now that winter is over. I will do my review. First off it's a little big. It says it's water resistant and wind proof. That's somewhat true if it's not snowing or raining. As for windproof my ears got cold even under an inclosed helmet with the visor down. Would I buy it again yes but I would add a light weight ski mask as well to keep my ears from getting cold ... show more

Recent weather was good opportunity to see how well it worked. Outside temp in mid-twenties with 10-15mph wind. Balaclava worked great, did not feel the wind, was nice and warm. Breathing thru the mask was easy. One note, your glasses at some point will fog up but I've yet to find anything that it dosen't happen. Would highly recommend. ... show more

Excellent balaclava. Keeps my entire face and head warm although it doesn't allow moisture from my breath to escape causing the mouth portion to become wet which can be problematic in extremely cold temps.
