My son is in love with this book. He and his friends have read the whole series and love to do role plays and write fan fiction and make up their own dragon tribes and characters. This book gives a lot more detail on the history of the tribes and some of it was very surprising. It has already given my kid a lot of inspiration for his own role playing and story telling. After just paging through it, before actually even reading any of it, he was inspired to make a new map of his own dragon world and add a new tribe with new characters. We are homeschoolers and I struggle with getting him to do book reports or really write anything at all so I appreciate that Wings of Fire inspires him to want to do these things on his own for fun. The book is richly illustrated and detailed. You can tell a lot of thought went into the writing of it. I was afraid it would be just a repackaging of the other books to capitalize on having another publication, but I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the book and of the work that went into this book. I am a HUGE Wings of Fire, and this was an amazing guide. It helped me understand a bit more about the dragon world. Mink's adorable letter to Jade Mountain Academy and Cliff's anthem to the SkyWings just perfected this book for me. The letters between Belladonna and Sequoia are SOOOO funny! Totally reccomend this book for Wings of Fire fans, for people who would like to see if they would enjoy the series, or someone who is just starting Wings of Fire. My daughter has been a huge fan of Wings Of Fire for a long time now, and she was very excited to get this book for her birthday, in it, there are vivid pictures and descriptions of the tribes in Wings of Fire, exclusive stories, more funny character quotes, from old and new characters, and many untold stories you'll love to read! It's a long book, and there's a lot of content in it, plus the imagery of the dragons is stunning! The only thing my daughter says she would have liked is more Clearsight and Darkstalker content in it, otherwise she loved it, and she especially loved, how all of the dragonets got to say a little something in the beggining of the book. If your child is a fan of Wings Of Fire, ignore the price, and buy them this book! ... show more

Beautiful book with beautiful art! Can't wait to read. However, it seems the book sleeve got damaged in shipping, which is disappointing. I feel like there should be a better method of shipping books, and not just throw them in a box with some paper.
