I have been wearing these for a month outdoors on rainy days and the days after rainy days with a Birkenstock insole, and there was almost no break-in period— soft, cushioned, and comfortable from the start. My Redwing Tread lite moccasin work boots going on year 3 soon are comfortable and keep out the dampness, but I can feel the cold seeping through the stitching at the toes when it rains or is extremely cold, even with wool socks.
