I bought these boots a year ago. These boots have lasted me longer than any boost I’ve ever worn being a welder our boots get destroyed in about 6 months depending on the type of welding. I’m a mig welder welding on galvanized steel, so lots of spatter and sparks. The guard on top of the laces WAS really good at keeping the sparks and spatter out of my boots and off my laces, however about 5 months in the guards broke off where they were sewn in, so I ended up having to cut them off, still the leather lip kept 90% of the sparks off the top of my foot the laces just needed to be replaced every once in awhile which they aren’t expensive or hard to replace. The insoles needed to be replaced about 6 months in, also not a big deal. The steel toe doesn’t get in the way of the wiggle room and the boots remained comfortable throughout their use. The boots are still wearable a year in, but they are starting to fall apart from the stitching being burnt and broken. I’m sure if you do any work that doesn’t involve fast paced movement throughout the day and sparks falling on top of the boots constantly, these boots will last you a year and a half to two years, I personally love these boots and will be buying another pair. ... show more

    • A bit large and hard to get tight. Otherwise pretty good.

I'm pretty solidly a size US12 without the laces being overly tight or overly loose and have average girth feet (I'm 6'2" and 200lbs, mostly dad-bod and not muscle). Out of the box these boots feel an entire size too big, which isn't unusual for steel toe trying to give plenty of room in the toe box and much better than losing toenails to a tight toe box. Usually I just make sure the laces are tight to hold my foot back toward the heel, but the way the met guard laces in, it is very difficult for me to accomplish with these boots. I've been wearing them off and on to try and break in, but I couldn't walk more than a mile before I start to get blisters forming on the back of my heels with them laced how they were in the box. For now, I've taken the laces out of the met guard completely so I can get a good fit and use little bungee cords to hold the met guard to the lace hooks at the top of the boots. I'm hoping that after they break in more I find a way to lace the met guard back in without making the fit bad again. ... show more

Perfect for welders. I kept getting spatter that melted through my boots and into my skin. These solved that problem. Update: It's been 6 months now and they are still in great condition even though they get beat up 6 days a week. Great boots!

I love the way they felt I can't wait to try them out on Monday morning. I had to make sure that my work boots had a metacarpal protector. Which for me was hard to find.. I mean let's be honest if a 45,000 lb steel coil lands on top of my foot I don't think it's going to do any good but it sure makes me feel safe!!!, 😁✌🏽 ... show more
