  • For someone new to wearing "work boots" - these are a dream
Size: 13 Color: Brown
Let me start by saying that these are the first work boots I have ever worn. While I cannot therefore compare them to any other workboots, I can say with confidence that these boots are incredibly comfortable and made the transition from athletic / hiking shoes to work boots hardly noticable. They are not much heaver than my trail running / hiking sneakers. The fit is roomy in the toe box, comfortable but supportive around the heel. They do seem to run a bit long - I ALWAYS wear a size 13 and in these I could have sized down to a 12 (not even a 12.5!). The waterproofing is amazing and I have stood in 6" of water. The non-slip soles just that - they have a very secure footing. And while some people have complained about breathability, I cannot support that complaint. I wear these with regular athletic socks and I do not find them overly hot, nor do I sweat profusely. Do they breathe as well as my asics? No. Do they breath as well as my 5.10 hiking shoes? Absolutely! The biggest thing that took getting used to was the height of the sole/heel. The sole under the toe is about 1.25", and the heel is easily 1.75"! So I still find myself either high stepping when climbing stairs (to be safe), or kicking the front of the stair (when I forget to high step). But that is just a matter of time. If you are looking for a work boot that doesn't have that "clunkiness" that you hear about - these are the ones. Just size down! Seriously. ... show more

  • Damn good boots 3.25 years still comfy
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Brown
I’ve had these boots for over 3 years now and they’re the best boots I’ve every owned.great slip resistance, oil and water resistant. I’m a welder so the boots strings needed replacing pretty early on with flame retardant strings. They are just starting to come apart in one little spot under the treads on the right boot. Fairly light weight and can handle years of hard abuse….oh and they are as comfortable as the first time putting them on. Very highly recommend. ... show more

  • Some of the best! My favorites! But......
Size: 12 Color: Brown
These boots are instantly comfortable, long lasting, waterproof, and some of my favorite work boots. The only downside is the sole doesn't have the best grip. However the rest of the boots is top notch. Ive been wearing these 29 years! The titanium composite toe is much lighter than steel, and will stop cinderblocks and full boxes of ceramic tiles, and one time a FORKLIFT, WHICH pushed the shield down into the sole, Pinching my toes a bit, but SAVED MY RIGHT FOOT! And the toe remained round,, wasn't crushed.. also, theyre technically not puncture proof but I've stepped on plenty of nails and none made it through. The pebble grain leather is beautiful as well. I truly hope these are not discontinued, because they beat 95% of the boots out there! BTW there's a similar model out for 30 bucks less. The difference is the leather. These have a rich chocolate pebble grain, whearas the cheaper ones are a flat, lighter brown. Same comfort and durability, but the pebble grain is much nicer! Super comfortable, no break in required, great cushioned ankle, extra roomy toe...very stable. Only downside is they don't have great traction in snow or mud, but everywhere else. ..great and waterproof for real! ... show more

  • Great boot and great fit.
Size: 14 Color: Brown
Very short break in. Lightest tough work boot I’ve ever used and I’ve tried quite a few in lace-up. I bought them originally for the lighter titanium toe cap. My hip pain went away. I’ve had 8 or 9 pair over the years and spend 8-14 hours on feet on concrete. Soles hold up well. I still like them more than Helix or any other if they’re newer designs. I usually get at least a year out of them. There are lighter tennis shoe types and I don’t get half the life before the break down in the sole or get torn up. Get a boot dryer and use it! It keeps any shoe fresher and because they stay drier inside its way healthier for your feet. It’ll extend your shoe life too, boot or otherwise. ... show more

  • Worst Boots Made
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Brown
Let’s start by saying these are FAR from a professional grade boot. It’s the same subpar boot they’ve been selling for decades with an orange insole and uncomfortable steel toe. The first three weeks of wearing and breaking in the boot were absolutely miserable, so at that point I replaced the insoles with generic dr scholls and GREATLY improved the pain I started having in the soles of my feet. Like night and day difference just by getting rid of the timberland insole. The steel toe ends approximately where the toe of the shoe creases during walking, so every step leads to the steel digging in to the top of my foot. It seems like they took a random toe cap and said “looks good enough” without giving any thought to the ergonomics. Again, far from the quality of nearly every other boot manufacturer on the market. And finally, after just a couple of months of normal wear, the rubber soles are delaminating from both boots. I’ve had countless other pairs of boots wear the tread down smooth without ever having a single delaminating issue. These have the build quality of a cheap pair of Nike sneakers. All in all, I’d recommend ANY other brand of boot over these. ... show more

  • I thought they’d last longer than 3 years
Size: 11 Color: Brown
Sole is tearing away from upper. Sole is falling apart along the sides. Originally gave them 5 stars but downgraded to 3 now.
