The insulated interior seems to be medium which is ideal for working both inside and out. I tried a regular work sock and thermal. Both fitted comfortably. They're soft toe with a firm toe box. I wasn't sure about the tread/traction design. Good gamble! Very agile. Flexible for a work boot. Should be good on ladders. I bought these boots for a recent trip to NYC when it was very cold and snowy. They really were just what I had hoped - warm and with great traction on the wet and icy sidewalks and streets. They fit just right, might run a tad bit large, but use their measurement guide to find the right size. They seem to be sturdy and well made but I haven’t had them very long so I can’t say how they will hold up over time.
