We originally wanted the Gazelle tent, but after trying (and failing) to get our hands on one due to constant sellouts, we purchased the Timber Ridge pop-up tent on a whim—and out of necessity. I’m so glad we did! This tent truly exceeded our expectations in every way. Setup and takedown are a breeze—we had it up and ready in under 5 minutes, and taking it down is just as simple. It’s perfect for those who don’t want to wrestle with poles and instructions, especially after a long day of travel or outdoor fun. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and durability of the materials. It held up great on various types of terrain we camped on—from soft grass to rocky, uneven ground. The structure feels solid, and it gives a good sense of protection from the elements. Inside, the tent is shockingly spacious. We fit a camping table and two chairs in the front room with ease, and in the main sleeping area we had a queen-sized cot with two dog beds and still had space to move around comfortably. The storage pockets inside were a bonus we didn't know we'd utilize so much—great for organizing small gear. Airflow is another win. The ventilation is excellent with the windows and screens, keeping the inside cool and comfortable even during warmer days. All in all, this tent turned out to be a fantastic purchase—easy, sturdy, roomy, and comfortable. The good: Incredible fair weather tent. Set up takes no time. Lay it out, climb inside and start pushing on walls. It's up in a min or less. Interior space is cavernous. Paired with a pittman inflatable couch you have a full little living room. Materials feel solid, zippers don't feel cheap or catchy. It's pretty much a gazelle knockoff. Is it as good as a gazelle? No. But it's less than halt the price. The odd: Rain fly is 50% well thought out. The screen tent portion covers everything. The bedroom part cuts off above the first body seam, which would 100% be problematic in rain. 4 stars for overall design, 5 stars as a summer tent. I bought a can of scotch guard and sealed all the seams on both the rain fly and the windows and body on the back half of the tent. If you don't want to do that I'd get a tarp to cover the back half of the tent if you plan on camping in rainy weather. I'd also get some kind of ground cloth or tarp for underneath. I can see the tarp floor getting punctures or holes pretty easily if it isn't babied. Summary: For what it costs this tent is really great. Being able to stand up anywhere inside is super nice, and setup is the fastest of any tent I've ever had, by a lot. The little overhangs build into the front of the rainfly are pretty cool and unique. For the price its very good. ... show more

Super easy to set up and take down. Love the height and the air flow. It is not a 4-6 person tent by any means -- 2 adults max, maybe you could fit one child or a pet in as well, but with the hexagon shape there just is not enough room for more than 2 adults to comfortably fit. the dimensions are misleading. I've been camping with my family from when it was just me and my wife, then the addition of 2 kids (still pre-teen at time of writing), but there is no way all 4 of us fit into this space. The bag is very heavy and bulky, particularly when considering it's really only a 2-person (adult) tent. ... show more

Great tent! Did a test run in the backyard. Setup was incredibly easy for one person. Takedown took two people because tents never want to go back in the bag it came with. Material is durable. Plenty of airflow, even with the rain fly attached. Love the plastic light windows in the back that allows light in without rain. Great for stormy weather. Definitely plenty of room. Family of five is very comfortable. Height is perfect for 6' husband. Plenty of space to walk around fully upright. CON: The rain fly that serves as the door cover and porch cover zippers down the right and left side. BUT the door zipper on the actual tent zippers down the center. So when the rain fly is zipped down, it creates a struggle to get out of the tent, because the zippers are not near each other, which is a struggle. This tent was amazing, and minor issue. Pros: Stored dimensions fit perfectly in the bed of my 61" Tacoma bed. No need to shove it in diagonally. Setup was quick and painless. No more dealing with the awkward shimmying trying to get dressed while horizontal on a sleeping pad. Plenty of room inside for 2 reclining lounge chairs, and walking space around 2 cots. Having a 'living room' was a luxurious change of pace for my wife and I. We can't wait to use it in the summer and enjoy the screen room with friends. Quality felt good, seams looked sealed, and the tent did not leak after 2 nights of rain before I had a chance to add additional waterproofing. Minor issue: The rainfly in the photos feature triangular flaps to fully cover the pvc windows of the 'bedroom'. The rainfly that came with the tent did not come with those flaps. Looking through other reviews, I've seen that those windows can leak when it rains. As such, I brought an extra tarp that I cut to the size of the triangular sections, and secured in place under the provided rainfly to keep rain off the windows. On another note, I'm short and if I had to put up the main rainflu alone, it would probably be a harder task, but I can't be mad since the height of the tent means my wife and I can stand up fully inside. After the trip, tear down was much easier than I anticipated. As long as you roll tightly, there aren't any issues putting it back in the storage bag. ... show more

Love size of the tent,great price, all seams taped, zippers of good quality,the poles of heavy steel,great window's,floor material could be heavier, put carpet down, should change the spikes,. With the set up l recommend spiking the floor down first. Much easier to pull sides out. When set up,very sturdy. I haven't tested for rain but if your worried spray with stent sealer. I personally sell all my tents as a matter of course. Would buy again. Only two down sides. The bag is very long. And it's heavy. I'm going to put the tent in the bag and keep the other parts separate. ... show more

    • Mostly Solo Setup and Held Up in the Rain

Ease of setup matters to me when camping. My husband was busy getting our daughter settled in our old not-pop-up tent, so I tackled this one largely on my own. It took me a few more minutes than the advertised 60 seconds, but still went up quickly considering I was doing most of it solo. The only point where I needed a hand was the final ceiling push, which requires a bit of height and leverage. Once my husband broke away for a moment to help with that, we were done. The real test came in the middle of the night when unexpected rain rolled in. Getting the rain fly on quickly in the dark while half asleep is not an ideal situation, but it went up fast and without a fight. Once it was on, the tent handled the rain without any issues — stayed dry inside throughout. I recommend a practice run before the trip! For a tent that promises quick setup and weather resistance, it backed up both claims in real conditions. That middle-of-the-night rain fly moment is honestly the best endorsement I can give it — if it works then, it works. Good tent, especially for families where setup duties get divided. ... show more

So far this tent has worked out amazing for my family of 5. Plenty of room, and with the rain fly off it has great ventilation. I’ve only had it on one trip so far but going back out next week and gonna mess around with different configurations of the rain fly. There are 3 openable screened in “floor vents” that hold open with a stiffened arm or tab and Velcro. We easily fit a Queen sized air mattress in the back room and 2 foam/air pads in the front with a smaller 12v fridge and a table. So far very pleased with the space and ease of set up and take down as well. Another bonus tons of head room, and over head storage. There are small organization pocket along the wall of each room, but they’re not very big. The storage bag also appears to have a thin pvc liner that will hopefully help with moisture and dust but could be a smidge bigger to stuff all the goodies back in it. Also purchased 2 of my own adjustable tarp poles to try using the front awning. I’ll add a picture to see how I set it up, it seems you could do the same to the sides as well. ... show more
