My family really likes this item. Its really easy to use. Other ice cream makers are bigger, and need ice and salt to become cold enough. This removes a few steps from making ice cream, so you'll find yourself making it more often. The only drawback is that you must re-freaze the bowl after each use, whereas with a traditional ice cream maker you can just add more ice and salt to get it cold again. It’s a beautiful bowl. Heavy, too. When I finished mixing things, it would sometimes feel impossible to twist out the bowl, which I overlooked because I loved being able to see inside a glass bowl. But, unfortunately my bowl cracked at the bottom stem with less than a year of use.

Fits perfectly in my kitchen aid! I love the extra capacity for making bread dough. Easy to use and very heavy and durable. I tried to use the silicone guard while running the mixer and it got ripped right off. Still love the bowl though!
